Río Lobo (1970) - Prime Video

The streaming platforms carry more Western movies and series than you might have known. How about this classic, for example? Howard Hawks and John Wayne together. A masterpiece.
The Power of the Dog (2021) - Netflix

Jane Campion created a masterpiece with this film. A contemporary classic with a spectacular cast and a plot involving siblings, land, cruelty, romance, and hatred between families.

Godless (2017) - Netflix

A ruthless outlaw spreads terror in the Wild West as he searches for a former member of his gang, who now lives in a quiet town inhabited only by women. Jack O'Connell is sensational as the lead, but Jeff Daniels as the villain is another level of excellence. By the way, it is a series of only 7 episodes that can be watched in one sitting. Perfect for a binge.

The Harder They Fall (2021) - Netflix

Shortly before Jonathan Majors fell from grace, he took part in this spectacular western. He plays an outlaw who discovers that his nemesis is out of prison and decides to gather his gang to seek revenge. Idris Elba, Delroy Lindo, Regina King, Zazie Beetz...

The Ridiculous 6 (2015) - Netflix

Adam Sandler and Netflix are a perfect pair. And this film is the perfect example. With a hilarious cast and an even crazier plot, he manages to pull off a comedic western with some really memorable moments.

News of the World (2020) - Netflix

The world already knew that Tom Hanks does everything right, but the chemistry he has with young Helena Zengel, the girl his character has to protect throughout the film, is pure magic.

Westworld (2016) - Max

A Western unlike anything seen before its premiere. Three seasons inside a giant amusement park where robots mingle with humans, until they start to make their own decisions. A combination of Western and science fiction that, at times, could even dispute the Iron Throne with Game of Thrones.

Deadwood (2004) - Max

To say that this is the best Western series in history is not an exaggeration. A masterpiece of 3 seasons and 30 episodes, set at the end of the 19th century, at the height of the gold rush, in which bandits and hustlers mix in search of a common element: money.

The Last Outlaw (1993) - Max

After a complicated heist, the members of a gang start to have disagreements with the leader, Graff (Mickey Rourke), who is abandoned and left for dead. Obviously, he survives and seeks revenge on each of the members, including Dermot Mulroney, Daniel Quinn, and Steve Buscemi. A very forgotten classic, but highly recommended. Of course, Rourke's moustache is infamous.

Montana (1990) - Max

A quieter film than the rest in this list. Hoyce and Bess Guthrie must decide whether to sell their farm to an oil company. While Hoyce wants to sell, Bess prefers to keep the property in the family and pass it on to future generations. A slow but intense drama.
Blind Justice (1994) - Max

Is it possible for a blind former soldier to carry and return a baby to its mother? That is the question posed by this unusual and thought-provoking story. Armand Assante is the lead, but it is Elizabeth Shue's character, Caroline, who steals the film's spotlight.
Bone Tomahawk (2015) - Prime Video

Not suitable for sensitive stomachs: this western is raw, cruel, and, at times, very graphic. Kurt Russell deserved an Oscar nomination for his performance, well supported by Matthew Fox and Patrick Wilson.

Justified (2010) - Prime Video

Timothy Olyphant proves he was born to wear a hat. In the 6-season series, he plays a Marshall who is exiled to his hometown after shooting a Miami cartel boss who will obviously seek revenge.

Hell or High Water (2016) - Prime Video

A race against the clock and against the bank of two brothers who are systematically robbed by the bank that wants to evict their mother. Behind them, a ranger on the verge of retirement, absolutely relentless.
