The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned a $5 million arbitration award against MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, ruling that the panel misinterpreted the contest terms regarding 2020 election fraud claims. The court has ruled that the arbitrators improperly modified the original contract by applying new evidence standards. The decision has nullified the earlier federal court confirmation and marks a major legal victory for Lindell.

Lindell launched the contest regarding data he claimed showed election interference. Software developer Robert Zeidman submitted a report stating the data was unrelated to the 2020 election. Though initially denied the prize, Zeidman later won $5 million in arbitration.

Attorney Brian Glasser criticized the decision, arguing it disregards the original panel’s thorough review of the evidence. Glasser said, “Your readers can judge for themselves if the Eighth Circuit’s decision today is more persuasive, or rings in truth louder, than the unanimous contrary decision of three arbitrators who heard all the evidence, including one appointed by Mr. Lindell.”
