Officials: Woman caught assaulting man flees from Upstate deputies in multi-county chase

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Officials said two people are in custody after a multi-county chase ends in Greenville.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy saw a woman assaulting a man inside a truck on Asheville Highway near Hearon Circle. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle to investigate.
According to officials, the truck refused to pull over and fled onto I-85 business and then I-85.
The sheriff’s office mentioned that spike strips were successfully deployed around Highway 290 but the truck was able to continue on its rims into Greenville County.
Officials said Greenville County deputies were called to assist and they were able to disable the truck on Verdae Boulevard near Woodruff Road.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said the woman and the man were taken into custody.
No injuries were reported.
