Hulk Hogan’s funeral plans revealed following wrestling legend’s death

The funeral arrangements for Hulk Hogan have been announced, following the wrestling legend’s death last week.

Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, passed away aged 71 from a heart attack on July 24 at his home in Florida. He had been suffering from health issues for a number of months.

Following his passing, it has been reported that he will be cremated following a ceremony in Clearwater, Florida, where he was living at the time. His death certificate says that the memorial service is set to be at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, which is in Clearwater, and his cause of death was natural causes.

A spokesperson for the Pinellas Forensic Science Centre told Page Six that they have received a request for cremation approval, but they’re not aware when it will take place.

Hogan was one of the most iconic professional wrestlers of the 1980s, being the WWE (then WWF) champion for over four years. He was also the first wrestler to win the championship five times, and headlined several WrestleManias over the years.

In 1994, he signed with WCW following a brief career change as an actor, winning the WCW Championship in his debut match. However, he’s best known as the leader of the New World Order, when he turned heel (became a bad guy) for the first time in two decades at Bash at the Beach 1996.

He returned to the WWF/WWE in 2002, winning the WWE Championship one final time before making sporadic appearances throughout the years. He was then scrubbed from the history books in 2015, when a conversation from a sex tape he was involved in saw him go on a racist diatribe where he repeatedly used the n-word and said that he was ‘racist to a point.’

He sued Gawker, who leaked the tape, and won $115million in the verdict in 2016. The publication later shut down in 2016.

He made his final appearance on Monday Night Raw’s premiere of Netflix in January 2025 alongside his friend Jimmy Hart.

Elsewhere, Hogan’s daughter Brooke Hogan has confirmed that she had herself removed as a beneficiary of Hogan’s estate, following a public falling out with her parents, Hulk and Linda, over the years.
