Top 6+ Closures At Disney World August 18th Through 24th

These are all of the closures at Disney World from August 18th through August 24th. There are not a ton of closures during this week, which is nice for people who will be on Disney World vacations during this time. There are some big rides and other things that are closed though and it’s good to know about them before you go.
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is a fun ride in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. It closed at the beginning of August and will remain closed until sometime in 2026. This closure is to do a big refurbishment and updates on the ride. It is getting new scenes, blasters, ride vehicles, and more.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed in January of 2025 for some updates. Disney said they are adding some extra magic to the ride. This attraction is expected to reopen sometime in 2026.
Starbucks At Disney Springs West

The Starbucks location that is on the West side of Disney Springs is currently closed. It was supposed to reopen this summer, but a date for the reopening remains unknown.
Walt Disney World Railroad Station in Frontierland

The Walt Disney World Railroad train station in Frontierland is currently closed for maintenance. You can still access this ride from Main Street, USA and Fantasyland’s train stations.
Muppets Courtyard

Muppets Courtyard closed permanently in June of 2025. This closure is so Disney World can build a new Mosnters, Inc. themed land that will feature a suspension roller coaster.
2026 Closures

2026 closures that we know about so far include DINOSAUR in Animal Kingdom and the rest of DinoLand USA permanently closing at the beginning of 2026 and Rock n Roller Coaster closing in early 2026 to change the theme to Muppets.
