At The Angry Elephant, a local bar in Little Elm, assistant manager J.J. Galindo welcomes the sight of growth.

“When new neighborhoods get built around us, it definitely helps build new clientele,” Galindo said.

The bar opened last year and is already feeling the positive impact of Frisco’s rapid development.

But the biggest buzz? Just four miles away, the Fields community is transforming North Frisco.

More than 200 custom homes are planned, surrounding the PGA championship golf courses and Omni PGA Frisco Resort.

North Texas Developer Fehmi Karahan said this exclusive community is set to become the Highland Park of North Dallas.

“It makes The Preserve one of the most desired neighborhoods,” he said.

The Preserve is the only gated neighborhood in the Fields project, and it’s already drawing major interest. Developers said 17 homes are currently under construction, and more than 100 lots have been sold.

Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney said the Fields development is already reshaping the northern part of the city and this is just the beginning.

“It already has transformed the entire northern part of our city. It’s set a tone,” Cheney said.

He said the project, which includes commercial, residential and retail phases, to take about 10 years to complete.

“It’s become really an anchor with this incredible gravitational pull that people just want to be around,” Cheney said.

Galindo said the growth has been a win for local businesses.

“I love when new customers come in. It gives me a chance to connect with them,” he said.
