Demi Lovato, musician (they/them/she/her)

Pop artist Demi Lovato affirmed their non-binary gender identity on X in the spring of 2021, announcing that the pronouns "they/them" describe them best. The announcement came after more than a year and a half of self-examination. They had nearly lost their life to a drug overdose and had struggled for several years with the psychological problems of bulimia and addiction. Lovato said in a recent interview that they were comfortable using she/her pronouns again, citing that it was exhausting to educate people on the matter constantly.

Sam Smith, musician (they/them)

Performer Sam Smith officially came out as a non-binary person in 2019 during an interview with actress Jameela Jamil. Initially indicating a preference to continue using male pronouns, they finally opted for the gender-neutral pronouns "they/them" a few months later via a now-archived Instagram photo in which they revealed being at war with their gender identity for their entire life.

Lachlan Watson, actor (they/them)

Actor Lachlan Watson was discovered in the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, in which they play a transgender character named Theo Putnam. In real life, Watson identifies as non-binary following a complex journey of discovery. They love to use fashion and makeup to reinvent themself.

Brigette Lundy-Paine, actor (they/them)

Actor Brigette Lundy-Paine made their name in the Netflix series Atypical as Casey, the main character's younger sister. They came out as non-binary on Instagram in 2019 after their character discovered her bisexuality. Queer both onscreen and in real life, Lundy-Paine has since closed their Instagram account, but appears frequently on those of their co-stars.

Ezra Miller, actor (he/him)

Known for their television roles in the series The Walking Dead: World Beyond and Younger, actor Nico Tortorella is turning heads with their gender-defying beauty and outrageous fashion. Asia Kate Dillon, actor (they/them)
