Nintendo fans devastated: Receipts were stapled into their Switch 2 screens
Long wait for the new Nintendo

It's been more than eight years since Nintendo launched the Nintendo Switch. For all those years, the Japanese company never updated its successful handheld console with a more modern and powerful version. Now, that product has arrived... and it's expensive!
A higher price than expected

The basic Nintendo Switch has been released for $449.99 in the United States and €469.99 in Europe, rising to $499.99 in the United States and €509.99 in Europe if it's bundled with Mario Kart World. In other words, it's not cheap at all.
Endless queues

But it gets worse. Imagine that, after months of waiting, days of tension before the launch, hours of waiting in line at the store to be among the first to have a Nintendo Switch 2, you get it, you open it... and the screen is broken!
Screen broken

The defect in the Nintendo screens is strange: it was not caused by a blow to the package or some sort of accident.
Strange little holes

Instead, the defect looks as if a mini vampire had taken two bites out of the screen: small ones, but enough to shatter your dreams.
It happened to many clients

This incident hasn't happened to one or two customers, but to a good handful of them. They saw their dreams last only a few seconds before they opened the Nintendo box.
What happened?

The question everyone asked: What happened here? How did those holes get into the screen?
Well, the answer is much simpler than that of the mini-vampire.
Staplers in the stores

It turns out that some stores in the United States, in order to speed up deliveries of pre-ordered Nintendo Switch 2s, decided to staple the purchase receipt to the console's box.

Double negligence

This practice has a double negative effect. On the one hand, it ruins the box that real fans want to receive in perfect condition.

Small holes, huge pain

Moreover, some staples penetrated the case and became embedded in the Nintendo Switch 2's screen, rendering it unusable in many cases.

Joint complaints

Dozens of users have complained and shared screenshots of their broken machines on social media, complaining about the negligence of the retailers responsible.
Luckily, it has been solved

Of course, just as the company made a mistake, we must also add that it quickly fixed the problem.
