Historic Buxton Inn in Granville hits the market for $5.8 million

The historic Buxton Inn, a central Ohio landmark that has been welcoming guests since 1812, is now up for sale with a price tag of $5.8 million.

The property spans over 24,000 square feet and includes 25 individually styled guest rooms spread across five preserved buildings: the Main House, Founders Hall, Warner House, Pearl Street House, and The Ty Fy Mam House. The inn's storied past includes serving as Granville's first post office and a stagecoach stop between Columbus and Newark. The original stone tavern remains intact, and the wine cellar once functioned as a Prohibition-era speakeasy.

In October 2022, the Buxton Inn faced a significant setback when a fire caused extensive damage. Repairs were completed by April 2024, allowing the inn to reopen its doors.

Over the years, the Buxton Inn has hosted numerous notable figures, including Presidents Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Harrison, and William McKinley.

Celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Garner, and Yo-Yo Ma have also visited the historic site.
