Top 5+ spectacular Fourth of July celebrations to check out in mid-Michigan this holiday week

BAY CITY, MI – The Fourth of July may be mid-Michigan’s most anticipated holiday.
Each municipality hosts its own unique events, but some things remain consistent: fireworks and fun.
Below are five events where people can celebrate Independence Day throughout the region this year.
Bay City Fireworks Festival features fireworks finale

The 2025 Bay City Fireworks Festival launched Wednesday, July 2, with a carnival to open the long holiday weekend. The fireworks displays begin Thursday, July 3, and continue nightly at 10:12 p.m., culminating in the grand finale on Saturday, July 5.
Spectators can view the show from various locations, but those heading to Veterans Park will need to pay a $2 entry fee from noon to 11 p.m. daily. On Saturday, access to Wenonah Park will cost $5 from 4–11 p.m.
Crossroads Village hosts old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration
Celebrate Independence Day by taking a step back in time at Genesee County’s Crossroads Village, located at 6140 Bray Road near Flint. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 4, visitors can enjoy a traditional ice cream social and classic patriotic festivities.

Guests are invited to explore the historic village, ride the Huckleberry Railroad, and savor festive treats. Admission ranges from $7 to $21, depending on age and activity package.
Fenton Freedom Festival returns with parade and fireworks
The Fenton Freedom Festival, an Independence Day tradition, kicks off at 10 a.m. Friday with a nearly two-mile parade through downtown—rain or shine.
The parade begins at Industrial Way and Owen Road, traveling along Shiawassee Avenue, Leroy Street, and Caroline Street before ending at West Street.
The festivities conclude with a fireworks display at 10 p.m. at Silver Lake Park, located at 16000 Jennings Road.
Midland gears up for festive Fourth of July at Dow Diamond
An Independence Day celebration is set for Friday at Dow Diamond, 825 E. Main St. in Midland, featuring live music, baseball, food, inflatables, and a fireworks finale.
The evening’s entertainment includes a performance by The Insiders: Tom Petty Tribute Band, taking the stage on the stadium’s front lawn at 8 p.m. The festivities will conclude with the annual fireworks display at dusk, around 10 p.m., launched from across the river near the St. Charles Softball Diamonds.

Traditions take flight ahead of Saginaw fireworks show
As the fireworks light up the sky this Fourth of July, several traditions will also return in Saginaw. At 10 a.m. on July 4, community members will gather to raise a large American flag on the Court Street Bridge near Ojibway Island, where the fireworks are launched.

Later that evening, at 8:30 p.m., spectators can look to the skies for a flyover show by the Flint-based Scream’n Rebels, a vintage warbird squadron.
