Where you live can have a huge impact on your health and well-being. High levels of pollution and poor hygiene are linked to diseases. Some countries take the lead in introducing measures that safeguard the quality of their citizens' air, water, waste management, and sanitation. To measure their cleanliness, Yale, Columbia, and the World Economic Forum have collaborated to develop the Environmental Performance Index (EPI). It ranks 180 countries based on 40 indicators across 11 categories, focusing on ecosystem vitality, climate change, and environmental health.
