10. Thailand
Thailand is not only the largest car producer in Southeast Asia but also one of the biggest in the world. Dubbed the “Detroit of Asia,” Thailand is home to several factories, most of them owned by Japanese carmakers.
The country manufactures over 1.84 million vehicles per year. Some of the car brands produced in Thailand include Honda (HR-V and City), Mitsubishi, Isuzu, and Toyota.
Popular models include the Honda HR-V and City, which are produced in a car plant located in Samut Prakan, and Toyota models like the Fortuner and Hilux, produced in Rayong.
