Many Democratic donors have expressed concern that it could revive issues from her 2024 presidential loss to President Donald Trump. She is expected to decide by late summer 2025, and Republicans have expressed optimism regarding her potential candidacy. A poll from University of California Irvine/Truedot in June shows Harris leading with 24% support among likely voters, followed by Rick Caruso (9%), Katie Porter (6%), Chad Bianco (4%), and Antonio Villaraigosa (4%).
