It looks clean, classy, and feels solid The Nord 5 keeps things simple but premium. The matte finish on the back is smooth, stylish, and doesn’t attract fingerprints. The Marble Sands version I used has a subtle marble texture that adds just the right amount of flair. Even though it doesn’t use a metal frame, the phone still feels strong and well put together in the hand.
It’s big but still manageable With its 6.83-inch screen and flat edges, the Nord 5 is definitely a large phone. If you have smaller hands, you’ll sometimes need your second hand to reach the volume or screenshot buttons. That said, it’s well balanced and not too heavy. It still fits into most pockets without feeling bulky.
The custom shortcut button is a nice touch One of my favourite little features is the side button you can assign to different tasks. I set it to quickly launch the camera, and it made a huge difference when I wanted to take photos in a hurry. It’s simple, doesn’t get in the way, and quietly makes life easier.
The display is one of the best in its segment The OLED panel is sharp, bright, and super responsive. At 144Hz, scrolling feels buttery smooth. Watching HDR content is a treat—vibrant but not overdone. Even outdoors in the sun, visibility is solid. And yes, the Aqua Touch feature helps when your fingers are slightly wet or sweaty—surprisingly useful.
Audio and connectivity are reliable Stereo speakers get fairly loud and are good enough for everyday video watching or calls. There’s not much bass, but clarity is solid. Call quality is great, 5G and Wi-Fi 6 worked without hiccups, and Bluetooth was strong. You won’t miss a headphone jack if you already use wireless earbuds.
Performance is smooth—even when pushed hard With the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, this is the most powerful Nord phone yet. It handled games like PUBG and Genshin Impact smoothly, and switching between apps or editing photos was no problem. The phone stayed cool during long use, and performance didn’t drop even after extended gaming or multitasking.
Battery life is excellent and fast charging helps The huge 6800mAh battery easily gave me up to two days on moderate use. Even with heavy screen time, GPS, or gaming, it held up well. And when it was time to charge, the 80W SUPERVOOC charger topped it up quickly. Bypass charging during gaming is another smart touch.
Main camera is surprisingly capable The 50MP main camera impressed me, especially with color accuracy and detail. It handled different lighting conditions well—from bright flowers after rain to close-up nature shots. Portraits were also great, and indoor shots of my dog looked sharp and natural. The triple-axis OIS keeps things stable and blur-free.
Other cameras are fine but not standout The 8MP ultra-wide camera is decent, but not amazing. It’s okay for landscape or group shots, but you’ll see some loss in detail around the edges. The 50MP front camera is much better, especially with autofocus and 4K recording. Selfies looked clear, even with tricky lighting, which is rare at this price.
It gets the basics right without overpromising The Nord 5 focuses on things that matter—performance, display, battery, and camera. It doesn’t try to pack in gimmicks. Sure, wireless charging is missing, and some AI features rely on an internet connection, but those aren’t dealbreakers. For its price, this phone delivers a clean, reliable experience that feels polished and premium.
