Rihanna's Sons RZA and Riot Make a Rare Appearance at 'Smurfs' Premiere

The rare public outing for the family occurred on July 13 at the Los Angeles premiere of Rihanna’s upcoming film “Smurfs,” in which she plays Smurfette. The pregnant singer was pictured on the red carpet with RZA, 3, and Riot, who turns 2 years old in August. Rihanna shares her sons with rapper A$AP Rocky.

“Rihanna’s outfit tonight is ... I don’t know, whatever, just don’t really cover her baby hump, you dig?” A$AP Rocky told a reporter at the Met.

Rihanna also responded, “I brought the kid!” when someone asked if she brought her “Umbrella-ella-ella, eh.”

In the “Smurfs” movie, the “Diamonds” singer plays Smurfette, the sole female character in the Smurfs community.

RZA and Riot were perfect gentlemen (and perfectly dressed in Dior, according to W magazine) at the “Smurfs” premiere, held at the Paramount Pictures Studios, holding their mom’s hand and posing for photographers.

RZA and Riot got to high-five a few stars of the movie, including Smurfette and Papa Smurf.

“I cannot wait for them to see the movie,” Rihanna told ET about her boys, pointing out her role as Smurfette. “That’s going to be my favorite, favorite part, when they recognize it as my voice ... I can’t wait to see what that reaction is going to be like.”

In the ET interview, Rihanna added that she did not throw a gender reveal for her unborn baby.

“A few people know,” she told ET about the baby’s sex. “Nothing spectacular, no production.”

Rihanna said the premiere was not just a work event — she wanted to stay on her children’s good sides.

“That’s what I want,” answered Rihanna. “I want some cool points. If I don’t walk away with cool points tonight, we’ve got to start over.”
