Prince George Beams In Newly Released Photos For His 12th Birthday
The proud parents shared a photo of George, taken by photographer Josh Shinner, on their social media accounts on Tuesday.
“Happy 12th Birthday to Prince George! 🎂” read the caption.
In the photo, George beams at the camera, and looks like the spitting image of his father, William.
William and Kate also shared adorable video footage of George and his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, in another post from the same photo shoot.
George, who is currently second in line to the throne, was born at 4:24 p.m. on July 22, 2013, at St Mary’s Hospital in London.
The Princess of Wales has spoken about what it was like to give birth to her first child on the world stage, describing the pressure she and Prince William were under.
“We’re hugely grateful for the support that the public had shown us, and actually for us to be able to share that joy and appreciation with the public, I felt was really important,” Kate said during an interview on the “Happy Mum, Happy Baby” podcast.
“But equally, it was coupled with a newborn baby, and inexperienced parents, and the uncertainty of what that held, so there were all sorts of mixed emotions.”

The royal couple present their baby boy to the world's media outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London on July 23, 2013.
She also shared her perspective on one “slightly terrifying” moment from the photo call, when she and William had to pose with George outside the hospital, and then put him in a car seat for the very first time.
“We were like: ‘What do we do? He’s going to be in a swaddle. How is this even supposed to work?’” the then-Duchess of Cambridge said with a laugh.
“We’d even tried to practice with a little doll at home, but it just never works out the way you’ve planned it,” she said, explaining that “It was quite hard to do that, I think, on the world’s stage, but he did a very good job.”
