Lindsay Lohan Has a Rare Reunion with Her ‘The Parent Trap’ Castmates 27 Years Later
At the premiere of ‘Freakier Friday’ on July 22, Lohan had another reunion with castmates from one of her early films.

While at the July 22 premiere of Freakier Friday—which follows 2003’s Freaky Friday—Lindsay Lohan had another reunion at the same time from a movie of hers from yesteryear.
Lohan’s very first film role was in 1998’s The Parent Trap, and on the Freakier Friday red carpet in L.A. on Tuesday, Lohan reunited with Elaine Hendrix and Lisa Ann Walter 27 years after The Parent Trap’s release. Hendrix and Walter were there to support Lohan in her latest project, which hits theaters on August 8.

Wearing a bespoke pale pink chiffon Miu Miu gown, Lohan posed for photos alongside her former co-stars last night. In The Parent Trap, Lohan played twins Hallie Parker and Annie James to Hendrix’s Meredith Blake and Walter’s Chessy. Hendrix told Entertainment Weekly that she and Lohan are “staying in touch, which is quite lovely” (and, spoiler alert, Hendrix has a cameo in Freakier Friday).
“I got to physically see her and we spent a lot of time together on set, hanging out, reminiscing, and catching up,” Hendrix said of Lohan. “Now, we’re better about staying in touch with one another.”

“She lives on the other side of the world and has a family and is busy,” Hendrix continued. “We both have full lives.” Hendrix added, “I’m so happy for her and where she is in her life. It’s nice, in these new chapters of our lives, to be in contact.”
She said of Lohan, “There’s a lot of people who live a lot of lives. Life lifes, you know what I mean? There are few people who live their life in such a public way that she was thrusted into. We go to see things we just don’t normally see about people. To see her now after so much that she’s gone through—she’s just in a really great place. She looks great, she’s so happy, and I’m happy and thrilled for her.”
Of reuniting onscreen with Jamie Lee Curtis after 22 years, Lohan said that when Curtis called her about Freakier Friday, “I was like, ‘Yes, I’m in, let’s do it.’”

“It’s not very often that you get to work with someone who’s been such a big part of your life on a personal level,” Lohan added. “That was exciting for me, to come back and do a big-screen film with a woman that I admire, that’s part of my life off-screen. To have that chance again, it doesn’t happen much. I felt lucky to be able to do it.”
Now that Freaky Friday has a sequel, what about the same treatment for The Parent Trap? Hendrix told Entertainment Weekly that, if asked, she would “hands down” be on board with Lohan “in the right situation.” (Fun fact: 1998’s The Parent Trap was actually already a reboot to the 1961 original.)
“I’d be so crushed if she wasn’t part of the sequel,” Hendrix said of her character Meredith Blake’s potential reprisal.

Though Hendrix said she’s yet to hear “anything official” about a second Parent Trap with Lohan attached, “There are always rumors. I don’t know where they come from. I think it’s mostly [from] fans who would love to see that.”
“Clearly there are so many sequels that should have never been made, and I’m not going to name names or titles,” she added. “Freakier Friday is definitely not one of them. Our Parent Trap wasn’t a sequel—it was [a] reboot, and definitely should’ve been made. So yeah, I’d totally be into it. I loved it—that was a great experience from A to Z.”

Of reuniting with Curtis, Lohan told People that “Jamie was with me at a time in my life when I was going through a lot publicly. She was privately really there for me. I can trust her.”
“I have to feel safe around people,” Lohan continued. “And Jamie is one of those people for me.”
