Former Xavier basketball standout Colby Jones signs with new NBA team
Former Xavier Musketeers guard Colby Jones is signing a two-way contract with the Detroit Pistons, according to a report from ESPN's Shams Charania.
Jones was a three-year starter under Travis Steele and Sean Miller from 2020-2023.
As a junior, Jones averaged 15 points per game and was an All-Big East selection in helping lead Xavier to the Sweet 16.

Jones was drafted in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics in a proposed trade with the Charlotte Hornets before being sent to the Sacramento Kings.
In his first two seasons as a professional, Jones split time between the G-League and the NBA. He appeared in 69 games off the bench for the Kings before being traded to the Washington Wizards in February.
