Reba McEntire Says She’s “So Proud” as Her Son Celebrates Milestone
Leave it up to Reba McEntire to hit us right in the feels! And, this time, it's not with a tearjerker tune, but a proud mama moment that just about broke the internet in the sweetest way possible.
Over the weekend, the country music legend took to Instagram stories and TikTok to share a heartwarming update about her son, Shelby Blackstock and let's just say that you may need to grab the tissues.

Reba posted two photos: one of her snuggling baby Shelby and the other of him standing confidently beside a small airplane almost 30 years later. The caption read, "Turned to check on you..." followed by, "and realized you're not my newborn anymore." She finished by writing, "Safe to say...he's gonna fly✈️ So proud of Shelby for taking his first solo flight!"
If that doesn't already tug at your heartstrings, let's add in the fact that she also layered the post with the audio of her 2005 song "You're Gonna Be" which she originally wrote about her son nearly two decades ago.
The song that's already a fan-favorite among Reba's fan has recently found a new life on TikTok. Moms across the platform are using it as a trend to showcase side-by-side photos of their babies and the grown-up kids they've become. Naturally, Reba joining in on the trend made it even more special.

She really is just another loving mama like us all😭🥹♥️." Others left comments like, "Yes they grow before we know it" and "ok you win this trend! Congrats Shelby ❤️." Some even joked about how her post made them emotional, saying, "Reba, don’t do me like that right now sis. 😭✋."
As fans already know, Reba's always known how to tell a heartfelt story. This one just happened to take flight (literally and emotionally).
