Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL: Google’s flagship phones get new chip, brighter display, improved camera, 25W wireless charging
Google Pixel 10 series is finally official and as per before, leading the new series would be the Pro models. Coming soon to Malaysia with pre-orders happening from today onwards, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL brings a number of upgrades to the table.
Here comes Google Tensor G5 and storage upgrade
One such upgrades is the new Google Tensor G5 processor that acts as the brain of the whole Pixel 10 series – both Pro and non-Pro alikes. The company claimed that the new chip features a TPU that is up to 60% more powerful alongside a CPU that up to 34% faster than its predecessor.
Built using TSMC’s 3nm technology, Tensor G5 also features an all-new ISP that offers improvements for image and video quality. In addition to that, Google also pointed out that Tensor G5 is the first chip to run Gemini Nano that powers many of Pixel’s on-device generative AI features.

Furthermore, Google claimed that Tensor G5 can help Gemini Nano run up to 2.6x faster and 2x more efficiently for features such as Pixel Screenshots and Recorder. Voice Translate, Call Notes with actions, Personal Journal, natural voice edition with Gboard, Scam Detection and the newly announced Magic Cue are among the features that said to benefit from the combination of Tensor G5 and Gemini Nano.
Meanwhile, Google has also bumped up the storage option for the 10 Pro XL. Now, the lowest storage capacity for the 10 Pro XL is 256GB unlike the 10 Pro that still starts at 128GB.
Brightest display on a Pixel phone to date

Google Pixel 10 Pro
As pointed by their names, the Google Pixel 10 Pro series can be obtained in two screen sizes. Just like last year, the Pixel 10 Pro features a 6.3-inch display while the Pixel 10 Pro XL offers a larger 6.8-inch screen.
Aside from their sizes, the Super Actua Display on both of the Pixel 10 Pro models were quite similar to their 2024’s counterparts in so many ways. For one, they still have LTPO OLED panel with Smooth Display feature which can deliver dynamic refresh rate range of 1Hz to 120Hz.
Similarly, Google continue to rely on Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 to protect the screens on both Pixel 10 Pro models. Even their resolutions – 1280 x 2856 for 10 Pro and 1344 x 2992 for 10 Pro XL, remained the same.
What different for Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL though is that their screens are now brighter. Specifically, both models can now hit 3300 nits of peak brightness as opposed to 3000 nits on Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL 3000.
Camera improvements for Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL

Unlike the non-Pro model which receive a new telephoto camera, the changes to the camera on the Pixel 10 Pro devices may seem modest. Among them is the improved optical image stabilisation module for their 50MP main camera which apparently has 2x the range of compensation.
For 10 Pro and Pro XL’s 48MP telephoto camera, Google has boosted their capability through the new Super Res Zoom capability. This feature allow user to zoom up to 100x while taking advantage of the new Tensor G5 processor to help maintain the details within the image.
As for other cameras, the 10 Pro and Pro XL continues to feature 48MP ultrawide camera as well as a 42MP autofocus selfie camera on top part of the their display.

The arrival of the new Pixel 10 Series also mark the debut of Google’s new Pixelsnap family of magnetic-based accessories which is essentially Google’s answer to Apple’s MagSafe technology. Among them includes Qi 2-compliant wireless chargers.
However, only 10 Pro XL can support the Qi 2.2 standard which allows it to be charged wirelessly at a maximum speed of 25W. The rest of the Pixel 10 Series family member is limited to the Qi 2.0’s standard which maxes out at 15W.
