Hermione racing: Emma Watson's 6-month traffic ban for excessive speed
Emma Watson went too fast

Emma Watson, the actress who played Hermione Granger in the 'Harry Potter' series, has been banned from driving for six months.
Not allowed to drive for 6 months

The actress was caught speeding in her blue Audi A3 at 38 mph (61 km/h) in a 30 mph (48 km/h) zone on July 31 of last year, the BBC reported. With that violation, Watson racked up four violations over two years.
She skipped her hearing

Watson also skipped a brief five-minute hearing scheduled for July 16 at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court. The court ruled that the actress would have to pay a fine of 1,044 pounds (approximately $1,400).
A split fine

Watson's fine has been divided into several sections: she will have to pay 660 pounds for the guilty plea. She also has an additional charge of 264 pounds and 120 pounds in legal fees, which she must pay within 28 days.
She pleaded guilty

For his part, Mark Haslam, her attorney, asked that the actress's guilty plea be considered. "Watson) fully understands her position and will accept her punishment," the attorney stated.
No license until 2026

Meanwhile, the actress will have to move around without a driver's license until January 2026.
Several previous violations

This is the fourth speeding violation the actress has accumulated. The first was in November 2023, the second in January 2024, and the last was in October 2024, according to El País.
Not just speeding

The actress has not only had trouble with the speed limit, but she also missed some 'No Parking' signs. In February 2024, the actress's car was towed after blocking someone's driveway for over three hours, The Sun reported.
Another Harry Potter actress

Interestingly, another actress from the film series, Zoë Wanamaker, was fined the same amount of pounds for racking up four speeding violations.
