The 71-year-old actor recently shared that his “life is paradise” with his 32-year-old wife, Laura Savoie.

Quaid and Savoie share a 39-year age gap, but the “Parent Trap” star said in a new interview with Fox News Digital that he doesn’t “think about it.”

“I haven’t spoken out about the age difference of my wife. Other people have,” he told the outlet. “She’s got so much going on that, you know, I just don’t notice it. She’s just, she’s the light of my life.”

“It’s the closest relationship I’ve ever had with anybody. Every day is paradise,” Quaid shared. “What can I tell you? I don’t know why God had waited so long to bring her, for her to come along, but [I’m] really glad he brought her into my life, or I walked into hers.”

The “Day After Tomorrow” actor has spoken about the couples age gap before, telling the Guardian in 2019 that he “didn’t go out looking for an age gap or someone really younger than me.”

“You have no control over who you fall in love with. I don’t fall in love easy,” he said. “But I can’t let what a few people think control all that. I’ve been married three times and this is the final one, I know it is. I feel like I have a real partner in life.”

Prior to Savoie, Quaid was first married to actress P.J. Soles, followed by “You’ve Got Mail” actress Meg Ryan. He and Ryan share one son, Jack Quaid.

After Quaid’s divorce from Ryan, he married real estate agent Kimberly Buffington. The two, who share twin girls, divorced in 2018. Shortly after, Quaid started a relationship with Savoie. The two tied the knot in 2020.

Though the couple share a nearly 40-year age gap, one actor’s relationship has them beat: Dick Van Dyke’s 46-year age gap with his wife.

Van Dyke, 99, is married to makeup artist Arlene Silver, who is 53. The two married in 2012 when Van Dyke was 86 and Silver was 40.
