‘Liar’: AOC Faces Backlash in Her Own State

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was met with strong reactions at her latest Queens town hall as she discussed immigration laws and environmental cuts. At the event, a protester challenged her on her stance regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict, repeatedly yelling about Genocide in Gaza. In recent weeks, Ocasio-Cortez has appeared nationwide alongside Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in well-attended rallies.

The heckler yelled at Ocasio-Cortez, stating, “I am a health care worker, and I want to know what you’re doing about the genocide in Gaza.” She then labeled Ocasio-Cortez a "liar."

Ocasio-Cortez said, “Please wait for the Q&A because we don’t want to deprive all of our neighbors of the ability to have information and hearing them to respond to it.”

Ocasio-Cortez opposed ending Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelans and arresting students in pro-Palestine protests. She also condemned proposals to cut environmental funding and emphasized the importance of due process and civil liberties.

Ocasio-Cortez said, “This is anti-immigration, and it is very important that we understand that and cut through the rhetoric and cut through the nonsense, because they do not know why America is great, or making America great, our civil liberties and our civil protections are part of what makes America great.”

Ocasio-Cortez added, “It is eroding and degrading what it means to be an American when we rip up our Constitution and due process. And that’s exactly what they’re doing here. We have, of course, attacks on free speech.”

Vice President JD Vance recently questioned the Democratic Party’s direction and leadership. He quipped, “President AOC, the stuff of nightmares.”

Vance said, “I think to the extent the Democrats have a leader, President Donald J. Trump is the leader of the Democratic Party.” He added, “Because they’re just against everything that he does.”

Vance noted that they lack a true leader, stating, “I think that’s why I’m not too concerned about 2028, because if I wake up in a fantasy world where the Democrats actually have constructive ideas about how to govern this country, that’ll actually be a good thing, but in the world that we actually live in, where they’re just anti-Trump about everything, the politics of 2028 will take care of themselves.”
