My mural design for the historic Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce is a tribute to the beauty, elegance and emotional depth of the performing arts. Inspired by the rich legacy of the theatre and the artists who’ve performed there, the mural celebrates the heart and soul behind country music, jazz, ballet and theatrical performance. Each element is thoughtfully composed to honor the passion, discipline and artistry that define these timeless forms of expression. I’ve aimed to create a mural that feels both classy and vibrant; a visual symphony that captures movement, sound and emotion through color and form. This piece is more than a mural; it’s an homage to the creative spirit and cultural heartbeat of Fort Pierce. Whether viewed by pedestrians or passing vehicles, I hope it stirs a sense of pride, nostalgia and inspiration, and reminds all who see it of the magic that happens inside the Sunrise Theatre.

As a multidisciplinary mural artist, my practice focuses on transforming architecture into immersive visual narratives. I specialize in trompe-l'oeil and 3D storytelling that celebrate both local identity and emotional connection. My vision for the Sunrise Theatre mural is to transform the building into a majestic theatrical illusion where painted scenes and glowing colors create a vibrant tribute to Fort Pierce's vibrant arts scene. To me, art is not just surface ... it is a dialogue between place and people. With over a decade of experience working on large-scale projects in the U.S. and Europe, I approach each mural with conceptual depth, craftsmanship and heart. Having already completed a public mural for the city of Fort Pierce, I am honored to contribute to the beautification and cultural heritage of this community.

Brian Peterson, Miami

I am Brian Peterson, a Miami-based mural artist with nearly a decade of experience transforming spaces through large-scale public art. Through my company, Brian Peterson Art, I've had the honor of collaborating with clients such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Rams and the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. My mural proposal for the Sunrise Theatre seeks to extend the joy, creativity and energy experienced inside the theatre to the outside, making it a vibrant landmark for all to enjoy. The design features a comedian laughing, a dancer in motion, a guitarist, and two young adults playing piano and saxophone, capturing the spirit of performance in bold color and form.
