With the start of summer comes the heat, so of course, you'll need a place to jump into some water to escape, right!?
Here are some places in Knoxville and beyond to check out this year. Don't forget the sunscreen!
Where are public pools near me in Knoxville?
Elmer Brine Pool (indoor)
Summer hours: May 19-Sept. 10
Cost: $3 a person to visit, and a splash pass is available with 10 admissions for $25, and 20 admissions for $45
Hours: 7 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays
Rules: All children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult

Ed Cothren Pool
Dates open: May 24-Sept. 1
Cost: $5 per person per visit, and a splash pass is available with 10 admissions for $25, and 20 admissions for $45

Inskip Pool

Oak Ridge Outdoor Swimming Pool
Dates open: Check back for a 2025 opening date
Cost: Children (2 and under) are free, youths (3-17) are $3.50, adults are $4.25 and seniors (65+) are $2.50. Annual passes are $405. This pool only accepts cash or checks.
Hours: 11 a.m.-noon (100m lap only), noon-6 p.m. (open swim) Monday-Friday, 7:30-9:30 p.m. (night swim) Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday
Rules: Children under 12 must have an adult

Quarries in Knoxville to swim
Augusta Quarry
Access to the quarry lake and the the Augusta Avenue entrance is closed due to construction. Stay tuned for a 2025 opening date!
Mead's Quarry
This quarry is a part of the Ijams Nature Center, which offers trails, swimming in the Mead's quarry and is a dog-friendly location (all dogs must be leashed and picked up after)
Hours: 8 a.m.-dusk
Rules: Private boats, canoes, kayaks and paddleboards (including inflatable ones) are not allowed on Mead’s Quarry Lake, according to the Ijams website.

McFee Splash Pad
McFee Park is Knox County's largest public splash pad.
Dates open: Now until the last weekend in September.
