‘Abusing Her Power’: GOP Member Slams Jasmine Crockett Over Airline Incident

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas has been met with heavy criticism after House Republican Conference Chair Lisa McClain shared photographs of her boarding a Delta Air Lines flight ahead of passengers in wheelchairs. Crockett reportedly boarded as the first passenger behind the crew. Critics have since raised questions regarding her compliance with airline policies requiring that passengers needing assistance board first.

McClain wrote, "SPOTTED Jasmine Crockett with a taxpayer-funded police escort, cutting everyone in line — even making DISABLED people wait." She added, "Nothing to see here, just the next leader of the Democrats, abusing her power!"

One source reported that Crockett was accompanied by a police officer and staff during the boarding process. Crockett’s chief of staff declined to comment on the matter.

Crockett is currently pursuing the committee chair position on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which would grant her oversight of federal government actions and potential investigations into President Donald Trump's agenda.

On the same day, Trump labeled Crockett a "low IQ person" and characterized the Democratic Party as "in disarray." She also faced criticism from conservatives for remarks during a commencement speech at Tougaloo College, where she emphasized the importance of knowing how to "use a chair" against adversaries.

Crockett referenced a viral incident involving a Black riverboat captain defended by bystanders with folding chairs during an attack in Montgomery, Alabama. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) criticized Crockett's comments as "not cool."
