AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Lily Coffee, Tea and Bread is a cafe and food truck that offers fresh, Vietnamese street food and Boba Tea.

For this episode of “Your Hometown Road Trip,” the team stopped by to speak with the owner, Lily Nguyen herself to find out what the business is all about.

Aside from serving customers here, what else does Lily’s do?

“We cater large orders for college festivals, events, private parties and more. Our goal is simple, to serve real food where ever we go, and create good vibes.”

Where did this idea come from?

“My family has been running a Vietnamese restaurant for over 30 years, and I love to bring the authentic Vietnamese street food to the U.S.. The second reason is that I’ve worked in the food industry almost twenty years and I had a chance to travel many countries and learn a lot about food culture from all the countries, like China, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, and you can see that on the menu.”

How much has the community supported you?

“We started the business setting up the food at the Augusta Market, and we got a lot of support from the customers, they love our drinks and food. Then, after that we had the food truck, and then after a year we opened this store.”

What’s people reaction when they try food here?

“They want to try more.”

The team also got a chance to speak with Lily’s employee’s Anna Welch about her thoughts on the business.

What type of energy does Lily bring to the business?

“She’s been amazing, she’s been one of the best bosses that I’ve ever had. She’s so welcoming and she has structure, she’s like another mom to me.”

What have people been saying about this place?

“We’ve quickly been rising up, It was like a little shop but because of the promotions and stuff, we have gotten very popular, very quick.”
