First Alert Forecast: Warm and humid Memorial Day in SWLA; thunderstorms possible too
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Well thunderstorms held together and reached SWLA today and will continue to move across the area through the afternoon hours. These will likely remain below severe levels, but still could produce gusty winds, small hail, and frequent lightning.

We will likely see another upper level disturbances passing over our area beginning Tuesday; this could bring storms into the area. Models show once such line arriving early Tuesday, but should move out quickly too.

A weak cold front will inch closer to our area through the week, but it looks unlikely it actually moves through or brings any noticeable change to our weather. Much of next week will include a 40% chance of rain but that is more from our normal summer pattern of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
