Memorial Day weekend means the kickoff to the camping season in Larimer County

The unofficial start of the summer camping season is Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26, so if you haven't already planned your camping trips, now is the time.

Here are campground openings, those that take reservations and those that don't in Larimer County.

Roosevelt National Forest

  • Ansel Watrous: Open. Reserve now.
  • Aspen Glen: May 23. First come, first served.
  • Bellaire Lake: Open. Reserve now.
  • Big Bend: May 23. First come, first served
  • Big South: May 23. First come, first served.
  • Browns Park: June 13. First come, first served
  • Chambers Lake: June 13. Reserve now.
  • Dowdy Lake: Open. Reserve now.
  • Dutch George Flats: Open. First come, first served

  • Jacks Gulch: Closed due to Cameron Peak Fire impacts.
