An early 2025/26 Premier League prediction

Far way

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

We are about as far away from Premier League football as it's possible to be, with months to wait before we see England's top flight in action again.

Looking ahead

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

Still, there's no time like the present, so take a look at our predications for next season's table.

19th: Leeds

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

In an ideal world, we think the promoted teams will have a real chance to stay up. We just don't see it happening though, despite this being a good Leeds team who could make some signings over the Summer.

18th: Burnley

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

Maybe he has improved since his previous stints managing in the Premier League, but we have seen Scott Parker fail with two teams in the top division. Turf Moor is never an easy place to go for a visiting side, we just don't think they'll have enough to survive.

17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

Wolves struggled for much of this past season, and now, if Fabrizio Romano is to be believed, Wolves are set to lose Matheus Cunha and Rayan Aït-Nouri. Those are not easy players to replace, and there aren't many genuinely good players in the squad.

16th: Everton

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

Everton are set to lose a host of players when their contracts expire this Summer. They will need to make some smart signings if they want to do anything better than battle near the bottom of the table next year.

15th: Bournemouth

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

Bournemouth are another set to be picked over by the bigger clubs in the division. It's the nature of the sport, but must be incredibly frustrating for these teams to see their best players move on after they start to build something.

14th: Brentford

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

At the risk of repeating ourselves, Brentford are set to lose their best player in Bryan Mbuemo, with reports suggesting Arsenal and Manchester United are in for him. He contributed 20 goals last campaign, per Transfermarkt, which won't be easy to replace.

13th: West Ham

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

We could see a world in which West Ham finish near the bottom of the table once again. It depends on whether Graham Potter is able to implement his system quickly, and well enough, to have the sort of success he had with Brighton.

12th: Fulham

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

Do we really think this Fulham squad has more than a mid-table finish in it? In our eyes, no. It's not a bad team, and they'll get some results against the big boys, it's just not an especially good one either.

11th: Crystal Palace

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

The FA Cup winners face a battle to hold onto their manager and Eberechi Eze this Summer. If they do, another solid mid-table finish is to be expected. Without those two, it could be a difficult season for the South Londoners.

10th: Nottingham Forest

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

After struggling at the tail end of the season and Morgan Gibbs White being an option for many of the big clubs, Nottingham Forest would struggle to replace him and finish as high as they did this season. Adding European football to an already frantic schedule could cost them as well.

8th: Manchester United

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

As it stands, this Manchester United squad just isn't very good. It has some good players in it, namely Bruno Fernandes, and it also has some who need to be moved on. Ruben Amorim needs to be given a chance to turn things around – it's going to take them more than one transfer window, but the potential addition of Matheus Cunha (15 goals and six assists) could seriously bolster their attacking flair.

7th: Tottenham Hotspur

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

Is Ange staying, or going? At the moment, no one seems to know. Given just how bad they were last season in the league, you would have to think he's skating on very thin ice at best. Champions League football will help them in the transfer market, where they need to spend if they want to compete.

6th: Aston Villa

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

Aston Villa were, arguably, robbed of Champions League football by one errant whistle in their final game against Manchester United. That could be a huge swing for the club, with rumours now suggesting they will need to sell at least one big name player to balance the books.

5th: Chelsea

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

Even with all the money Chelsea has spent over the past couple of years, they still need to splash more cash this Summer if they want to improve upon the season just gone. Enzo Maresca and his team snuck into the Champions League on the final day, which should not be good enough for a team with this level of investment.

4th: Newcastle

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

Newcastle were inconsistent for much of the 24/25 campaign, and will be hoping to be more settled next season. Eddie Howe has done a good job for the club, but at some point will they need to look elsewhere if they want to reach the next level?

3rd: Liverpool

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

David Ornstein has reported Liverpool are now front-runners in the race to sign Florian Wirtz, which would be a huge coup for the current champions. We just don't see Liverpool's success as sustainable. We could be wrong, as it's a great team, we just think they'll have a drop off next year.

2nd: Manchester City

Looking ahead, 19th: Leeds, 18th: Burnley, 17th: Wolverhampton Wanderers, 16th: Everton, 15th: Bournemouth, 14th: Brentford, 13th: West Ham, 12th: Fulham, 11th: Crystal Palace, 10th: Nottingham Forest, 8th: Manchester United, 7th: Tottenham Hotspur, 6th: Aston Villa, 5th: Chelsea, 4th: Newcastle, 3rd: Liverpool, 2nd: Manchester City

City need to replace Kevin De Bruyne, and hope Rodri is able to return at somewhere near his best if they want to compete for a Premier League title next year. There is certainly a world in which City romp to another title, it's just not the one we're predicting, because...
