After 11 years, Ice Cream Shop of Manahawkin to serve final cone this summer

Ice Cream Shop of Manahawkin, a year-round ice cream store on Route 9 in Stafford, is closing.

Owners CJ and Andrea Manfra shared the news on social media Thursday, June 12.

"After 11 incredible years of scooping smiles, sharing sweet moments, and serving our amazing community, we’ve made the difficult decision to close the doors of The Ice Cream Shop of Manahawkin," they wrote. "This journey has been nothing short of magical — from first cones to birthday parties, date nights to summer traditions, we've cherished every memory made here."

The last day will be Tuesday, July 8.

"It’s been a great time with everyone but we’re looking forward to our new chapter and getting to spend nights, weekends, and our first summer where we can be completely be present with our family and make a new set of memories," Andrea Manfra said.

The shop at 59 Main St., which caught the eye of passersby thanks to a monster truck parked outside, opened in 2014 with nine flavors of ice cream.

The menu expanded through the years to include flavors like pineapple habanero and black pepper, rose, amaretto, Dunkaroos and Fruity Pebbles.
