According to World Atlas, Americans consume about 5 ½ gallons of ice cream each year, per person, with ice cream makers churning out 870 million gallons yearly just to keep up with demand. That's the second highest among the world, with the industry thriving in New Zealand, where residents consume 7 ½ gallons per year.
