Prince Louis was back on his meme-worthy escapades as he stole the show at the 2025 Trooping the Colour. The youngest Wales son’s playful antics have become somewhat of a tradition over the years, with the prince making silly faces, showing off his dance moves, and getting into mischief with his older brother Prince George. As the royal family made their annual balcony appearance on Saturday, June 14, the young prince’s bigger-than-life personality was back on display as he adorably took cues from another royal: His grandfather.
Prince Louis could be seen mimicking King Charles as the monarch took part in some of the royal family’s traditions. During the annual fly-over, the senior royals could be seen waving at the crowd that was gathered to celebrate the sovereign’s official birthday. In a video shared by a British royals fan account on X (formerly Twitter), Charles could be seen lifting his hand and smiling as he looked out at the assembly. Meanwhile, the 7 year old looked back at his grandfather for pointers and then followed his lead, copying him by rigorously waving at the crowd as well.

While Prince Louis’s enthusiastic waving captured the hearts of viewers, his older brother didn’t seem to be as big of a fan of the theatrics. Prince George could be seen scolding his younger brother and tapping him to stop in another video shared on X.

Queen Camilla previously opened up about King Charles’s close relationship with his grandchildren, revealing, “He will get down on his knees and crawl about with them for hours, you know, making funny noises and laughing” during a 2018 interview for Prince, Son & Heir: Charles at 70. She also revealed that her own grandkids from her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles “adore him, absolutely adore him.”
“He reads Harry Potter, and he can do all the different voices. And I think children really appreciate that,” she said at the time.
