Following her suspension from Barnard, Hirsi said, "I just received notice that I am one of three students suspended for standing in solidarity with Palestinians facing genocide." She added, "Those of us in the Gaza Solidarity Encampment will not be intimidated. We will stand resolute until our demands are met."

Amid the unrest, the House passed a resolution condemning antisemitism and supporting ICE, with backing from 75 Democrats. The resolution condemned an antisemitic attack in Boulder, Colorado, while also including provisions supporting law enforcement, including ICE. The resolution (H.Res. 488) passed the House with a vote of 280-113.
