The Marine Room’s ‘High Tide Dinner Series’ returns to La Jolla this summer

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — One of San Diego’s most unforgettable dining experiences is making its return this summer as The Marine Room in La Jolla announces the 2025 dates for its iconic High Tide Dinner Series — now under the direction of newly appointed Executive Chef Ananda Bareño.

Timed with the full moon and La Jolla’s highest tides of the year, this bucket-list-worthy event allows diners to enjoy a luxurious meal while dramatic ocean waves crash just outside the restaurant’s panoramic windows. The 2025 series will be held on June 23–25, July 22–24, and Aug. 20–22, offering guests three evenings each month to experience the culinary and natural spectacle.

Chef Bareño, known for her seasonal coastal cuisine, has crafted two unique dinner experiences:

  • Rising Tide Dining (4:30–5:30 p.m.): Guests can choose between an à la carte menu or a three-course prix fixe option priced at $125 per person, all while watching the tide rise during the early evening hours.
  • High-Tide Dining (7 p.m.): The main event features a specially curated four-course dinner set against the stunning backdrop of peak high tide, complete with live music and a sunset toast, priced at $165 per person.

For those seeking an elevated experience, the Chef’s Table upgrade offers even more indulgence for $250 per person, including additional courses, wine pairings by a sommelier, a visit from Chef Bareño herself, and a take-home gift.

Located just steps from the ocean, The Marine Room has long been celebrated for combining fine dining with breathtaking views of the Pacific — but these high tide dinners offer a rare, immersive encounter with both.
