Top 5+ can’t-miss restaurant openings and dining updates in Boston this week

It’s a good time to be a Greater Boston diner in 2025, with exciting and diverse restaurant openings occurring all over the metro area. 

Each week, Boston.com will highlight the restaurant openings worth knowing about across the Greater Boston region. Some spots will already be open, while others are set to debut soon or later this year. At least one featured restaurant will always be a bonus item — either a pop-up, a collaboration, or event at area restaurants.

Tiffani Faison’s wine bar at High Street is getting a second location inside the citizenM hotel in Back Bay, according to a hiring post on Boston Chefs’ website. Along with its menu of wines (bubbly and other) and small bites, Faison’s second bar will also have a rooftop patio.

A Chinatown favorite is back after closing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Moy family used that time to give the dim sum restaurant a renovation. Expect the same dim sum menu, but in a modernized space.

The creator of crowd-favorite Cloud Candy IPA has been quickly expanding its taproom footprint in recent years, having just opened its second location in Fenway last year. Now beer drinkers can enjoy a Mighty Squirrel beer in the bustling Arsenal Yards, which also features a global tapas menu.

A neighborhood gastropub is coming to Oak Square in Brighton, and it’s behind The Abbey team. What Now Boston reported that after several years of holding onto the space, The Abbey owners finally secured a liquor license in April.

Bonus: Roundhead Brewing Co. pop-up

If you haven’t caught one of the Roundhead Brewing Co. pop-ups in your neighborhood, you’ll now have until the end of September to go to their weekend pop-up at the former JP Gas in Jamaica Plain. Other Roundhead pop-ups coming up include one in Copley Square that runs from June 21 to July 13 and will feature the food truck North East of the Border.

Event Date and Time: Every Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. through Sept. 27
