'The Future is Complete': Wisconsin Football Adds Huge 2026 Four-Star Wide Receiver

Can the Wisconsin Football Staff Secure a Third 2026 TE Following Big Upcoming OV? 3
Jayden Petit, a native of Naples, Florida, is considered to be one of the better receivers in the 2026 recruiting class as well as a potentially transformative player. Petit is a skilled route runner with an excellent frame for college football and the player still has plenty of time to improve before college as well. The Badgers were able to officially land the recruit over multiple top schools which marks a major victory for the program’s recruiting department.
Petit had been considering Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Miami as well before announcing his commitment to Wisconsin. The receiver had been extremely close with the Sooners for some time, and at one point seemed like a potential player who was out of reach for the Badgers. However, the Wisconsin football staff put all resources into landing Petit which is a potentially pivotal moment for the program.
The Wisconsin football staff is also celebrating a second win in the state of Florida as Petit commits to the program just days after fellow wide receiver and Florida native Zion Legree committed to the Badgers. Both wide receivers offer a slightly different look at the position and will surely add plenty of new firepower to the Wisconsin offense.

Previously, coach Luke Fickell expressed a desire for the Wisconsin football program to become more athletic and become a place where players truly buy into what is being offered.
The commitments of both Petit and Legree signify changes occurring within how Wisconsin conducts recruiting and how aggressive the staff becomes when in pursuit of a recruit. Major praise must go to first-year Wisconsin receivers coach Jordan Reid, who has arguably been the hardest working member of the staff during the 2026 recruiting cycle thus far.
Reid is responsible for nearly a quarter of the commitments early on including Legree, Petit, and Tayshon Bardo, another accomplished three-star wide receiver from Indiana. Bardo has been a particularly productive landing for the Wisconsin football staff, taking on a recruiting role of his own and become a pivotal piece in the recruitment of Amari Latimer, Jack Sievers, Legree, and Petit. Most recently the recruit put one quite the recruiting display on social media in the lead up to landing Petit and completing the receiving room for the time being.
The talented receiver Petit is the current top-ranked commitment in the 2026 class for the Badgers and could remain as such for some time. No other Wisconsin target in the 2026 recruiting class that is currently nearing a decision with the staff holds a greater ranking than Petit.
