The Milwaukee Brewers are sending three players to the 2025 All-Star Game in Atlanta this upcoming week. Two of them were not surprising selections, but one of them shocked the Major League world. Freddy Peralta, who leads the National League in wins, was an obvious choice as he is having one of the better and more productive seasons in the league.
Closer Trevor Megill was named as a replacement for Peralta, who informed the powers that be that he would not be available to pitch in the All-Star Game as he pitched on Sunday, just two days prior.
But what was shocking was the announcement over the weekend that Jacob Misiorowski, who has made just five career starts as a rookie this season, has been named to the All-Star Game as well.

Milwaukee Brewers: Jacob Misiorowski Becomes 4th Pitcher in Franchise History with Feat 1
Through his first five Major League appearances (all starts), Misiorowski is 4-1 with a 2.81 ERA. He made Major League history in his first two starts, becoming the first pitcher in the live ball era to start his career with 11.0 no-hit innings.
But his selection to the National League All-Star team meant other players, who admittedly are very deserving, did not get picked. Unfortunately, not everyone can get an invitation.
And some Philadelphia Phillies players made it very clear that they did not like the fact Misiorowski got picked over two of their own starting pitchers.
“What a joke,” their star shortstop Trea Turner said. “That’s f— terrible. I mean, that’s terrible, dude.”
“That’s just how MLB does it now. Nothing against the Misiorowski kid. But those two [Sánchez and Suárez] are deserving of being on the team in the first place. There’s no doubt,” stated catcher JT Realmuto.
Outfielder Nick Castellanos added, “It’s turning into the Savannah Bananas.”

After the Phillies’ comments were made public, Brewers star outfielder Christian Yelich had some words for them.
“There’s many deserving players every year that don’t get to participate in the game,” he said. “It’s an honor to be an All-Star. It’s a very cool experience, and you obviously want the people who are deserving to be able to experience that. But I think Miz is also deserving.
“I understand the frustration from people, but it’s not the kid’s fault. He didn’t choose himself to be in the game. He got chosen, so he should go.”
And then added his strongest statement on the matter.
“There’s going to be people that say things about you your entire career, so if you let them get to you, it’s going to be a lot of long nights in this game,” Yelich said. “It’s an honor, he should enjoy it. And if people don’t like it, f–k ’em.”
