Paramount+ brings immersive fan activations to San Diego Comic-Con
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego will soon be flooded with comic fans as the annual San Diego Comic-Con returns July 24-27, 2025. While most of the action takes place inside the San Diego Convention Center, those without a ticket can also join in on the fun with fan activations taking place throughout downtown.
After Disney announced its fan activations earlier this week, Paramount+ is following suit with The Lodge, which will feature a lineup of immersive, themed experiences from “Dexter: Resurrection,” “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” “Landman,” “Mission: Impossible,” “NCIS” and more.
Paramount+ is bringing back The Lodge to San Diego’s Gaslamp District for the third year in a row. From Wednesday through Sunday during the convention, fans can take part in the interactive activation at Happy Does Bar, located at 340 Fifth Avenue in San Diego.
Dexter: Resurrection
The “Dexter: Resurrection” vault has reopened and guests can go inside to find a collection of relics, case files, and twisted keepsakes from some of history’s most notorious killers, curated in Dexter fashion.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
In anticipation of season three, fans can step inside an immersive sci-fi playground in a Starfleet holodeck, which will feature a series of interactive vignettes inspired by episodes from the upcoming season.
Or sip cosmic cocktails in the romantic “Intergalactic Love Lounge,” and dive into a campus-inspired “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” with exclusive themed swag.
The Landman Patch Café
Fans can walk into a slice of Midland, Texas and grab some drinks in a M*Tex souvenir mug at the series’ favorite watering hole.
NCIS: TONY & ZIVA
This Parisian café, with a twist, takes guests through a stripped-down safehouse, complete with Easter eggs like surveillance equipment, photos, and passports, for some “espionage, romance, and high-stakes tension.”
Mission: Impossible
Fans can recreate the scene from the original “Mission: Impossible” (1996) where Ethan Hunt is lowered into a high-security vault. A photo opp will let fans take home a photo in the legendary suspended pose part of the IMF mission.
Admission is free for the Paramount+ fan activations that run Wednesday from 6 to 10 p.m., and Thursday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., but reservations are required. Sessions can be booked at this link. Paramount noted there will be a stand-by line daily if no reservations are available.
In addition to the show activations, fans can score a touchdown at the CBS Sports Clubhouse, or stop in the UEFA Champions League-themed sports bar. They can also claim their spot on the Paramount Mountain, inspired by Paramount+ shows SpongeBob SquarePants, Star Trek, Yellowjackets, Survivor and more, as they wait in line for The Lodge at the Paramount+ Fan Frontier Outpost between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. from Thursday through Sunday during the convention.
San Diego Comic-Con is the fourth stop for The Lodge on its national 2025 tour.
Outside Comic-Con, fans can “nerd out” with Paramount+ on the Lawn outside the Omni San Diego Hotel at the Ballpark from Thursday to Sunday as fans will get a chance to explore and connect with the iconic franchises, characters and worlds across Paramount. The tented “Nerd Out” booth activation will feature games, laidback DIY activities, fan contests, exclusive prizes, giveaways and more.
Inside San Diego Comic-Con, Paramount+ will have a “Mountain Experience” Booth, featuring a Mountain Crane Challenge where attendees can put their skills to the test at the “larger-than-life custom dual” claw machine game which will be filled with exclusive prizes from fan-favorite Paramount+ shows and an all-new exclusive Paramount+ merch drop, “Peak the Plushie.” A SDCC badge is required to visit the booth.
The free streaming service Pluto TV will also be featured in The Lodge. Part of its “Summer of Cinema” campaign, the Pluto TV activation will have free popcorn, slushies, and a one-of-a-kind photo op.
Don’t want to wait until the week of Comic-Con? Some of the fan activations have already opened in downtown San Diego — Pac-Man Cafe and Malibu Barbie Cafe.
