One Mile Park officially open in Madison

MADISON, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation has officially opened a new park in the northeast portion of the county.

One Mile Park, located on Connare Drive at the intersection of Apple Valley Road in Madison, is the latest park in the Metro Nashville portfolio.

The new park includes a playground and a dog park on land donated by development firm Greystar Communities.

The park was included as part of the Birchway Apartments development, according to Greystar. The maintenance of the park will be a joint venture between the apartment complex and Metro Parks, Community Affairs Superintendent Jackie Jones previously told News 2.

In addition to the dog park and playground, the two-acre park also includes a paved walking loop. Parking is also provided on site, according to Metro Parks.

“We are happy to provide this amenity to the folks in the Madison area, particularly during the national celebration of Parks and Recreation Month,” Jones told News 2. “It is our hope that this little oasis will provide the health and well-being benefits parks are designed to provide.”
