FC Cincinnati signs second team goalkeeper Nathan Crockford to short-term deal

FC Cincinnati has called up second team goalkeeper Nathan Crockford to the first team with a short-team agreement, the team announced July 31.

FC Cincinnati traded their third round pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft to D.C. United for Crockford's right of first refusal, which gives a team priority for signing a player.

The signing is the first for the 20-year-old, who joined FC Cincinnati 2 before the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season. He joins the first team ahead of their match against C.F. Monterrey on July 31.

Crockford has appeared six times for the second team this season, logging three clean sheets. D.C. United originally selected him in the third round of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.

Fans in the Bailey cheer in the first half of the MLS Cup Playoffs First Round Match between the FC Cincinnati and the New York City at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024. The match was tied 0-0 at halftime.
