24. Vent Isn’t Working

Not all bathrooms have windows, it’s a well known issue in many hotel rooms. One of the ways hotel owners solve this problem is by installing vents in order to create circulation of air which takes the dump and unpleasant odour away.

23. WIFI Password

One of the first things you do when you arrive at your hotel room is making sure you have strong WIFI signal and a ‘guest password’ to connect you mobile phone & laptop to the local network. This is important mainly when traveling abroad in order to avoid paying excessive charged to your local mobile network.

21. Stairways To A Secret Stage

So if you’ll get all the way up and crush the wall, will it open up and you’ll get into a secret stage in a video game? I guess not… I mean, what were they thinking?! May it was part of the set of the latest Harry Potter film?

20. Shopping / Housekeeping Cart?

Is that a stolen shopping cart somebody took from a department store or they hired a new employee who wanted to bring his own gear for the job? I’m pretty sure they simply ‘borrowed’ it for a couple of days and return it as soon as the regular housekeeping cart return back from the ‘garage’.

18. You Got What You Paid For

You can’t always get yourself a luxurious stay at a 5-star hotel. Sometimes budgeting your options is the only choice. For this guest, they got exactly what they payed for. For only $60 a night, this room could be yours as well. Features include: poorly painted walls, mini television, and a wall made out of pressboard. The theme for this room is “under construction”. Just be careful you don’t get a splinter.

17. This Cabin’s AC

Someone rented a cabin to stay at. When they got there, they noticed the air conditioning wasn’t working properly. After having a look around back they discovered that the air conditioning had all but weathered away. It doesn’t even look like the components inside are more than dust! After contacting the owner, they were told “it was working yesterday”.

15. Is This Antarctica?

No, this is actually Minnesota, and apparently it looks just as cold. We’re not exactly sure how a door gets this bad, but it’s probably due to the lack of use that this exit gets. What’s sure now is that it’s not going to get used any time soon. It’s scary to think that it so cold that the frost is able to creep in and freeze along the inner walls as well.

14. The Room with a Secret

Is this The DaVinci Code? National Treasure? Uncharted? According to yodude484, this hotel sink probably opens The Chamber of Secrets. Honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if this hotel sink held the secrets to life itself. With faucets, and shower heads, and taps (oh my!), whomever designed this didn’t have convenience in mind at the time.

12. This Guy’s Message to the Town

This one sure is punny! We’re sorry for the guy who had his meds stolen, but at least he has some humor in him. We’re not sure how well the rest of the hotel staff is taking this, but maybe this sort of thing brings in the guests? No, probably not. However, this is a really creative way to get the notice out there, so props to this guy.

11. Confusing Parking

So, this happened. Apparently, the guy in charge of the parking lot must have been color blind, and not fluent in English because these parking signs neither display the correct name of the color represented nor the proper name for the numbers displayed. Heck, there’s not even a green amongst any of them!

9. Salt Goes in the Salt-Shaker

Let’s start off by saying that this is just one of many times we’ve seen this happen. Reddit user posted a picture of how this hotel room likes to keep their individual salt and pepper packets—unopened and packed into salt and pepper shakers. We’re not sure who doesn’t understand how salt and pepper shakers work, but we’ll tell you this: the gaps in it are not there because the packets inside need to be able to breathe.

8. Sorry, Not Interested

This one… well, this one’s actually pretty funny, and a good idea! Tired of guests writing in their complaints to the suggestion box? Don’t want to bother making your hotel nicer and more comfortable for the people you want to show up? Well, all you need to do is buy a new suggestion box, and by that we mean a shredder! That way, you don’t need to hear people’s complaints, and they can send in anything their hearts desire.

6. The Latest in Cinema Tech

Why go to a movie in IMAX when you can just go to your hotel’s very own movie theatre? Well, we’re pretty sure Reddit user syrupdash has a legitimate excuse not to stay in. This hotel’s theatre apparently spared no expense in it’s home theatre. Can you believe they have a 30” television?! The best part about it is the stereo speakers are just powerful enough to barely reach the back of the room.

5. Twin Shower Heads

Out of all of the places you could have put a fire sprinkler, did it have to be the one place that already has a (arguably more efficient) sprinkler in it? Or at least, the one place we can maybe protect ourselves in case of a fire emergency? We hope that they were a little more tactical with the placement of the other fire sprinklers.

3. Privacy Policy

Let’s just say this hotel doesn’t care much for privacy. Reddit user Mastadave2999 was quick to point out that the window in the common hallway led straight out onto their guest room porch. Talk about bad design. Not only does this mean anyone can see into the room, but that breaking in is a much easier task.

2. Lacking Common Sense

We’re not sure who got to make this decision, but Reddit user TGK_Immortality was quick to point out a very obvious flaw in the design of their guest room. Normally, wall electronics will be installed wherever there is access to a power source. But for this room, it seems that the installer forgot that lamps need electricity, as they attached it to a wall devoid of any outlets.
