- The new guidelines prohibit attendees from wearing nude dresses or voluminous gowns, citing decency reasons.
Halle Berry is one of the many A-list celebrities walking the red carpet at this year's Cannes Film Festival. During Wednesday's Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning premiere, the Oscar-winning actress turned heads in a corseted number from Celia Kritharioti that features a ginormous bubble skirt with a pink gingham design and a long black train that could be seen as a violation of the festival's recent change to the dress code. Berry also accessorized with Chopard jewels and bejeweled pumps, and styled her hair in a bob.

Earlier this week, ahead of the festival, changes were made to the official charter. The charter is essentially a roadmap for attendees that includes the 12-day event's rules and other helpful information. One of the new updates reads, "For decency reasons, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as well as in any other area of the festival."

The new dress code continues: "Voluminous outfits, in particular those with a large train, that hinder the proper flow of traffic of guests and complicate seating in the theater are not permitted. The festival welcoming teams will be obligated to prohibit red carpet access to anyone not respecting these rules.”

Berry revealed that due to the new rules, she had to change one of her planned outfits. The actress spoke to reporters on the red carpet on Tuesday and said she had to switch out one of the options she had. "I had an amazing dress by Gupta that I cannot wear tonight because it’s too big of a train," she said on the carpet. "I’m not going to break the rules."
