She contrasted her opulent bling with a quiet luxury look.

The Gist

  • Helen Mirren contrasted a quiet luxury outfit with over-the-top statement jewelry at her latest red carpet appearance.
  • The actress turned heads in a 14-carat diamond necklace paired with a rich mom-coded look.
  • She joined Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and other The Thursday Murder Club co-stars at the Plaza Hotel

It’s no secret that Helen Mirren is partial to some statement bling, whether she’s icing her collar in 400 carats of jewels at the Cannes Film Festival or stealing the show at the Golden Globes in over 115 carats of diamond Harry Winston pieces. And on Thursday, August 14, The Queen actress kept her multi-watt jewelry streak going—albeit with an unexpected quiet luxury twist—as she stepped out on the red carpet.

While posing with co-stars like Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Tim Ellis at the New York City screening of The Thursday Murder Club, Mirren lit up the Plaza Hotel in a rich mom look with an eye-catching accessory. In contrast to her quietly lux outfit—a ribbed cream crewneck sweater that the Dame wore paired with barrel-legged crisp white trousers—Mirren made a case for anti-minimalist bling. Her 14-carat diamond necklace, which rested halfway down her chest, was interwoven with gold chunky accents and 36 large freshwater pearls. The art deco-inspired piece also had a statement pearl pendant at the bottom, giving it a red carpet finish.

The 80-year-old actress finished off her look by styling her silver-blonde hair in a chic, sleek bob with side-parted bangs, showing off a pair of matching pearl earrings that appeared to be from the same jewelry collection. A subtle smoky eyeshadow, a mauve lip, and bronzed cheeks finished off Mirren’s latest look.

Mirren’s latest pearl necklace appears to be a pared-down homage to the Margot McKinney-designed Marina Collier that she wore back in May at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. The British actress wowed in the 400-carat collar, which featured rare baroque Australian South Sea pearls, aquamarine stones, green beryls, tourmalines, sapphires, diamonds, paraibas, and green garnet stones.
