Scenes from the Hamptons Classic, now fully underway in Bridgehampton

They’re calling it the “perfect end to a perfect summer.”

And the Hampton Classic Horse Show, now celebrating 50 years, is now fully underway.

Opening Day was Sunday, with several hunter divisions reserved for Long Island residents in what is commonly referred to as “Local Day.”

Among the first champions crowned in the beautifully manicured hunter rings was Rocklyn, the 14-year-old Zangersheide gelding owned and ridden by Anne Byers, who brought home the Grand Local Hunter Championship.

If you go

The Hampton Classic runs from Sunday, Aug. 24, through Sunday, Aug. 31, and is expected to attract some 50,000 people to Bridgehampton including, of course, A-list celebrities. (This is among the top Hamptons social events of the summer.)
