Power outages, downed trees reported across the Tennessee Valley due to severe weather

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Power outages and downed trees are being reported across the Tennessee Valley due to severe weather barreling through the area on Tuesday.

Lauderdale County

Florence Utilities is reporting 66 customers without power.

Colbert County

Sheffield Utilities reports 134 customers are without power.

Lawrence County

Power has been restored to all customers in Lawrence County.

Limestone County

Athens Utilities is reporting that 2,700 customers are without power.

Morgan County

None.

Madison County

Huntsville Utilities reports that 2,475 customers are without power.

Marshall County

Arab Electric Cooperative reports 110 customers without power.

DOWNED TREES/OTHER DAMAGE

Madison County

Madison County EMA officials say there are reports of damage near Bob Jones High School, along Highway 72 and in the Cliff Farms area.

Lauderdale County

According to Lauderdale County EMA Director Brad Holmes, many trees are down on County Road 605 in Rogersville.

There is a tree reported on a house in Florence on Hermitage Drive.

Colbert County

Colbert County EMA Director Jody Hitt said the Brick Hatton community got hit hard, they will be checking out the area as the storms move through.

Limestone County

  • Lucas Ferry Road between Brownsferry Street and U.S. 72 is closed due to multiple broken utility poles.
  • Portions of Sanderfer block; multiple utility lines down.
  • One lane of U.S. 31 south of U.S. 72 is blocked by a fallen tree.
  • Water over roadways in several areas.
  • 13 poles down on Lucas Ferry Road
  • Damage on Sanderfer Road between Jefferson Street and Hine Street
  • Levert Avenue south of U.S. 72 is closed due to flooding
  • Multiple downed trees on I-65 near mile markers 346 and 347, causing the roadway to be closed

People are being advised to avoid the areas of Highway 72 and Lucas Ferry while they complete repairs.

Jackson County

According to the Jackson County EMA Director Joshua Whitcomb, there is a confirmed tree down on a home at 38 Canadian Drive in Scottsboro.,
