Following a miserable campaign United suffered further frustration in Kuala Lumpur.

It has been a terrible season for United, who finished in 15th place in the Premier League and were beaten by Tottenham in the Europa League final.

But with a humiliating loss on their post-season tour, the head coach admitted that the defeat to ASEAN All-Stars was 'disappointing' before offering a truly damning assessment of his side's mentality.

'We don't have it in us not to choke in every exercise, in every game, that is what happened.

Despite fielding several senior players United fell to a defeat in their post-season friendly

Amorim admitted that his United team don't have it in them not to choke in key moments

'We should win these kind of games, no matter what. We need to bring that inside of us in every game.

'The important thing is no injuries with this weather and to arrive here in this day. It is not an excuse, we should perform better.'

It is difficult to read too much into the result given that United used 27 players during the game, including many youngsters.

However, United still started with experienced players such as Andre Onana, Harry Maguire, Manuel Ugarte and Casemiro.

Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho both came on for the second half.

United are back in action on Friday when they take on Hong Kong.

Amorim's team certainly require an overhaul in the transfer window and Wolves star Matheus Cunha is set to be the first arrival at Old Trafford this summer.

United have agreed to pay Cunha's £62.5million release clause in three instalments over the next two years.

Amorim was asked about Cunha's arrival at the club after the game, telling reporters: 'You have to wait for that (announcement). I won’t confirm anything. I have no news. We will see. There will be some changes.'
