Tottenham get Eze encouragement

Tottenham are increasingly turning their focus to Eberechi Eze.

According to The Sun, Spurs have been told that the Crystal Palace star is interested in making the move and there is a good chance of him leaving the Eagles this summer.

Eze is believed to have a release clause of around £60m, but there are complex conditions over activating it and paying that fee.

Man United make improved Mbeumo bid

Manchester United have made a fresh attempt to sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.

United had a bid rejected by the Bees earlier this summer and risked missing out on Mbeumo as Thomas Frank’s Spurs registered their interest.

However, talkSPORT report that an improved bid of more than £60m has now been submitted by United, who want a deal done by the start of pre-season.

Mbeumo’s preference is to join United this summer.

Kerkez to complete Liverpool

Liverpool are expected to wrap up the signing of Milos Kerkez later today.

The left-back will join from Bournemouth for a fee of around £40m, signing a five-year contract.

Kerkez had the first part of his medical yesterday and will undergo the final tests today before the move is made official.

Man United and Chelsea open to swap deal

A swap deal involving Alejandro Garnacho and Christopher Nkunku is being considered by Manchester United and Chelsea.

Garnacho has been told to find a new club while Chelsea want to move Nkunku on, with the Frenchman failing to impress at Stamford Bridge.

The Telegraph report that a swap deal could materialise, in a deal that would solve problems for both clubs.

Garnacho is said to be very keen on joining Chlesea.

Arsenal enquire about Barcola

Arsenal have made an approach for PSG star Bradley Barcola.

The 22-year-old score 21 goals and provided 15 assists for the European champions last season and is attracting interest from across Europe.

L’Equipe report that Arsenal have joined the likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool in enquiring about the Frenchman, but have been told by PSG that he is not for sale.

Barcola is also said to be happy in Paris and has no desire to move.

Forest eye Juve pair

Nottingham Forest are looking to pull off a double swoop for Juventus pair Samuel Mbangula, 21, and Timothy Weah, 25.

Discussions between the clubs are ongoing, though Fabrizio Romano reports that it will be worth in excess of £17m.

Forest are also working on agreeing personal terms with the players.

The news comes as Forest are said to be working on a treble swoop for the Botafogo trio of Jair Cunha, Igor Jesus and Cuiabano, who today confirmed their progression to the Club World Cup round of 16.

DONE DEAL: Nat Phillips joins West Brom

Liverpool have lost Nat Phillips after the 28-year-old agreed a switch to West Bromwich Albion.

The deal was finalised after he underwent medical testing on Monday. The fee has been described as nominal.

He made 29 senior Liverpool appearances after joining the academy in 2016.

In recent years, he served loan spells with Bournemouth, Celtic, Cardiff City, and Derby County.

United pick up South Coast youngster

Man United are on the lookout for the next generation of Old Trafford talent, and have reportedly found it in Southampton.

The club are said to have tied up a deal for Harley Emsden-James, 16, of Southampton.

The Red Devils have reportedly pipped Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Arsenal to his signature, which could be worth around £1m in compensation fees.

Turkey beckons for Richarlison

Spurs striker Richarlison could be set for a move to Galatasaray.

The Brazilian striker was in and out of the squad last season as he fended off persistent injuries, eventually managing five goals and two assists in 22 appearances between the Premier and Europa Leagues.

Turkish news site Posta report that he could present an alternative to Victor Osimhen should Galatasaray fail in their bid to sign the Nigerian striker on a permanent deal. He spent last season on loan at the club.

The report also claims that Spurs have given the green light for the player to leave, though new head coach Thomas Frank is said to be a big fan of the Brazilian.

Real Madrid slash Rodrygo asking price

Reports in the Spanish press claim Real Madrid have placed Rodrygo on the clearance rack.

Cadena SER claim Real had initially been looking to recoup around £85m for the player, and have now dropped their price point closer to £77m.

While not a massive drop in asking price, it could be enough to entice suitors to place a suitable offer.

Arsenal are thought to hold a serious interest in the player, while Chelsea, Manchester City, and Tottenham are also sniffing around.

Mason Mount to stay at United

Mason Mount is set to stay at Manchester United this summer, despite reports claiming he could look to leave Old Trafford.

His involvement since signing in 2023 has been limited by injury, though he enjoyed some highlight-worthy moments in the Europa League last season., scoring from halfway against Athletic Club in the semi-final.

Manchester United have reportedly made an improved offer for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

According to various reports, the deal is in excess of £60m.

Maresca provides Nkunku update as United consider approach

Enzo Maresca hinted that he wanted Christopher Nkunku to stay at Chelsea this summer as the player is heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

"Christo is with us,” the Italian declared. “He's our player.

“He's doing very well in the last four, five days.

Arsenal have spoken to Chelsea about making a move for winger Noni Madueke, as Estevao’s arrival looks likely to shake up the attacking hierarchy in Enzo Maresca’s side.

The Gunners, though, are not willing to match Chelsea’s asking price of £50m, according to The Independent.

A deal could take place later this summer. The Gunners are still looking to tie up a striker in either Benjamin Sesko or Viktor Gyokeres, and have looked at Rodrygo as another solution on the wings.

Bayern to rival Chelsea for Gittens

Bayern are thought to be keen on Chelsea target Jamie Gittens, according to Sky Germany.

Vincent Kompany is said to have given the transfer the green light in January, and Bayern executive Max Eberl reportedly has him ‘high on his list’ as a back-up option to Bradley Barcola and Nico Williams.

Talks are ongoing, partly due to Chelea’s failure to agree a deal.

Chelsea and United consider swap deal

Chelsea and Manchester United could prove the answer to one another’s transfer woes.

The two clubs are reportedly considering a swap deal for Christopher Nkunku and Alejandro Garnacho.

That is according to Telegraph Sport, who add that the Blues would still prefer to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.

Chelsea will continue their talks with the German outfit in the United States as both sides compete in the Club World Cup. United are not present at the tournament.

Spurs agree deal for Japan international

Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign Japan international Kota Takai, according to the BBC.

The move will be worth £5m, and the player will sign a five-year deal.

Kawasaki Frontale have maintained a 10% sell-on clause.

Premier League new boys Leeds have confirmed the signing of Jaka Bijol, 26, from Udinese.

The deal is reportedly worth £15m, and the player has signed a five-year contract.

The centre-back stands 6ft3in tall, and has 63 caps for the Slovenia national side.

Before joining Udinese in 2022, he spent time with Rudar Velenje, CSKA Moscow, and Hannover 96, making a total of 252 appearances at club level.

Walter Benitez will join Crystal Palace in July, the FA Cup holders have confirmed.

The 32-year-old joins as a free agent after his PSV contract expired.

He is a two-time Eredivisie winner with Eindhoven, where he made 134 appearances.

Chairman Steve Parish said: “Walter is an excellent addition to our squad, bringing further quality, experience and competition to our goalkeeping department alongside Dean and Remi.

United 'sound out' Nkunku move

Man United are said to be interested in a move for wantaway Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku.

The Red Devils have made contact with the player’s camp to ‘sound him out’ ahead of making an official offer, according to L’Equipe.

The Frenchman joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig for £52m in 2023 but has struggled to impress as he dealt with long-term injuries.

He has just six league goals in 38 League appearances for the Blues.

Chelsea face competition in striker and winger search

Jamie Gittens remains a priority transfer target for Chelsea, despite Bayern Munich now entering the race for the Borussia Dortmund winger.

The Blues have already settled on personal terms with the 20-year-old on a seven-year contract but an agreement is not currently in place between the clubs over a fee.

Molly Bartrip extends Spurs deal

Spurs vice-captain Molly Bartrip has signed a new contract which will keep her at Hotspur Way through 2028.

She played every WSL minute last season, and made her hundredth appearance for the club in March.

The 29-year-old appeared in Spurs’ academy as a youngster but made her professional debut at Reading in 2014. She rejoined the Lilywhites in 2021.

Ronaldo issues future update

Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at Al-Nassr this summer.

The Portuguese veteran had been linked with a move away from the Riyadh club for the Club World Cup as his contract at the Saudi Pro League side neared its expiration date.

However, reports from Saudi Arabia claim that Ronaldo will remain with Al-Nassr and pen a new deal with the SPL outfit.

Nat Phillips is having a medical at West Brom as he nears a departure from Liverpool.

Quansah to join Leverkusen after Euro 2025

Jarrell Quansah’s move to Bayer Leverkusen is all but signed, but the Liverpool defender will not move to the German side straight away.

The centre-back is currently on international duty with England at the European Under-21 Championships in Slovakia, and the Young Lions face the Netherlands in the semi-final on Wednesday.

Reports say that Quansah will sign officially for die Werkself after he finishes his international commitments.

Gundogan wants City stay

Ilkay Gundogan has iterated that he wants to see out the final year of his contract at Man City.

The German midfielder has been linked with an exit from the Etihad Stadium, with Galatasaray interested in his services.

However, when questioned about his future, Gundogan said that he was happy at City.

“I have one more year left on my contract and I’m very happy here,” he said.

“I think everybody knows that. I am enjoying my football.

“I still believe I have several years in me at the highest level by taking good care of myself. I’ve proven last season when I didn’t miss a game.

Manchester United could gazump Brentford to one of the Bees’ transfer targets this summer.

The player in question is Eduard Spertsyan, the Krasnodar captain, who has come under interest from Brentford, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atalanta.

Pogba deal not done yet

Sky Sports report that Paul Pogba’s proposed move to Monaco is not finalised yet.

Deco says Barca will 'try' for Williams

Deco has said that if circumstances are right, then Barcelona will try to sign Nico Williams.

Previous reports have claimed that Barca are in pole position to sign the winger from Athletic Bilbao, but their precarious financial situation could stop them from doing so.

However, sporting director Deco has told La Vanguardia that the Culers will “try”.

"We need to strengthen that (winger) position," he said.

"We only have Lamine [Yamal] and Raphinha as wingers because Ferran [Torres] is increasingly becoming a striker.

“When Yamal and Raphinha don't play, the team's level drops. There are several criteria. First, the player must believe in the project. Nico [Williams] and other players show a desire to come. If the circumstances are right, we'll try.

"To sign a player, you have to follow the right steps. In this case, everything is very clear. He has a [release] clause. Then we'll see how we can make what the player and the club want to happen.

"It's nice that [Yamal] is Nico's friend, but this isn't a club of friends. We come here to work and try to win. We already had Nico in our sights last summer; he's a name we've always had in mind. If they get along well, all the better."

Rangnick: Man United's transfer focus has not made sense

Former Manchester United boss has criticised the club’s transfer business in recent years, believing they have signed the wrong profile of player.

"If I were the owner or sporting director of a club, I would only try to sign and invest in young players,” he told Sport. “Because no matter how you look at it, it only makes sense.

"Does it make sense to spend £30, 40, 50 million on a 28 or 30-year-old signing? Not really.

"Let's calculate it. You sign a 28 or 30-year-old with a five-year contract. You spend £50m more on the transfer fee, an average of £15m per year multiplied by five.

"That's £65m plus the £50m transfer fee equals £115m, plus the agents' fees. The whole operation costs you around £130m."

Spurs draw up three-man shortlist

Tottenham are focusing on three targets in their bid to provide Thomas Frank with more creativity.

The battle to sign Jadon Sancho is heating up, in what will be a relief to Manchester United.

Gundogan plays down transfer talk

Ilkay Gundogan has dismissed the possibility of him leaving Manchester City this summer.

The midfielder is reportedly a target for Galatasaray, who are willing to offer him a two-year contract with the option to extend for a further 12 months.

However, speaking after scoring twice in Man City’s 6-0 win over Al Ain last night, Gundogan provided an update on his future.

“I have a one year contract,” he said.

“And I'm very happy here. I think everyone knows that. And I am committed to the competition.”

Garnacho sending message?

Alejandro Garnacho took to social media to post a picture of him wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Marcus Rashford’s name on the back.

Garnacho has been told by Ruben Amorim to find a new club this summer, with the Manchester United boss making it clear the winger is not in his plans.

It is a similar situation for Rashford, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa and appears to have no future at Old Trafford.

Garnacho’s latest post would appear to be further evidence that a summer move is inevitable.

Man United face Kean deadline

Manchester United are keen on former Everton striker Moise Kean.

The italian is now at Fiorentina and is attracting the attention of United, who appear increasingly unlikely to sign Viktor Gyokeres, who had been among their top targets.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that United have turned their attention to Kean, despite Fiorentina being reluctant to sell.

United’s cause is helped by a £44.5m release clause in the 25-year-old’s contract, which is active from July 1 to July 15.

Bayern consider Gittens hijack

Bayern Munich are pondering whether to hijack Chelsea’s move for Jamie Gittens.

The Blues tried to sign the Borussia Dortmund winger before the Club World Cup and had a £42m bid rejected, but are expected to return with an improved bid later this summer.

Kicker, though, claim that Bayern are also interested in Gittens and could rival Chelsea.

Pogba set for Monaco switch

Paul Pogba is set for a return to football with AC Monaco, according to reports.

The Frenchman has been suspended since 2024 for a doping violation, a charge which he has continually denied, writing in a statement: “I have never knowingly or deliberately taken any supplements that violate anti-doping regulations.”

According to Sky Sports, there positive talks have taken place between player and club, but a deal is not yet finalised. Talks will continue this week.

Fulham to profit from Elliot transfer

Fulham stand to profit from any deal for Harvey Elliot.

The Liverpool forward is said to be ready to leave the club in pursuit of more regular first-team football following the signing of Florian Wirtz, with Brighton reportedly ready to bid as much as £40m for his services.

He joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2019, and Cottagers insisted on the inclusion of a 20 per cent sell-on clause in his contract.

Should Elliot move for the reported fee, Fulham could earn around £8m.

Brighton target Flamengo full-back

Brighton have made a £20m offer for Flamengo full-back Wesley França, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Flamengo are willing to sell the player, but will wait until after the Club World Cup to negotiate a deal.

Franca played 82 minutes as Flamengo beat Chelsea 3-1 in Philadelphia.

The player, 21, has been with Flamengo since 2021, since picking up five major honours.

United set Antony asking price

Manchester United have set their asking price for Antony, according to reports in the Manchester Evening News.

The club will look to recoup £32.5m from the £85m they invested in him in 2022.

He is also thought to be willing to take a cut on his £150,000-per-week wages in order to expedite a deal.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Betis, scoring five goals in 17 league appearances as the club reached the final of the UEFA Conference League.

He will return to Old Trafford this summer, but is fully expected to leave the club. Should he fail to find a move before the club flies to the United States for preseason, he will be left to train alone at Carrington.

Three way fight for Sancho

Three clubs have emerged as potential destinations for Jadon Sancho this summer.

The winger spent last season on loan from Man United at Chelsea, a move which he looked to make permanent, but could not reach an agreement for a pay packet.

Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce side has emerged as an option, though two Italian sides are also interested in Napoli and Juventus.

Juventus are thought to be preparing a bid of around £22m, but his £250,000-per-week wages are still a stumbling block.

Leicester enter manager market

Leicester City are finally set to sack Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The Dutchman was hired in November to rescue the Foxes’ doomed Premier League campaign, but lost all but two of his 19 games in charge.

They have lined up Premier League legend Sean Dyche to take over, with both decisions set to be confirmed in early July.

Marc Guehi will not sign a new Crystal Palace contract this summer, with the club now preferring to sell him this summer.

The centre-back captained the club to its first-ever major honour last season, but is now set to depart.

He is hoping to confirm a significant role at the 2026 World Cup.

Newcastle saw a £60m bid for his services turned down last summer, with Liverpool also now expected to offer for him.

Brighton have named Harvey Elliot as a ‘key target’ this summer.

The Liverpool attacking midfielder, formerly of Fulham, became unsettled towards the end of the season as reports of the Reds’ interest in Florian Wirtz intensified. Now the deal has been confirmed, Elliot seems ready to move for greener pastures.

He is thought to have a variety of other clubs interested in his services, both in the Premier League and abroad.

Bayern Munich target Martinelli

Bayern Munich have reportedly named Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli on their shortlist of summer targets alongside a crop of world class talents.

The newly crowned German champions are looking to bolster their forward line after Leroy Sane joined Galatasaray as a free agent earlier this summer. They return to the drawing board after being pipped to Florian Wirtz’s signature by Liverpool, and have named a star-studded list of targets.

Martinelli, 24, is among their number. He joined the Gunners from third-tier Brazilian side Ituano for just £6million in 2019 and has become a first-team regular under Mikel Arteta, scoring eight goals and assisting four in 33 Premier League appearances last season.

Arsenal’s asking price for the player is not yet clear, though the Brazilian is not thought to be interested in leaving the club, with his contract not due to expire until 2027.

WSL transfer latest: City sign young phenom, United eye Liverpool star

There are plenty of happenings in the WSL transfer market. Here’s the latest:

Man City have confirmed the signing of Iman Beney from YB Frauen. The striker, 18, was the youngest member of the Switzerland squad at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, and will don the No24 shirt.

Japan centre-back Moeka Minami has joined Brighton from Roma, where she has plied her trade since 2022 and won two Serie A titles.

Everton have confirmed the departure of Sara Holmgaard upon the expiry of her contract. She scored three goals and assisted four in 19 WSL appearances last season.

Wales international Ceri Holland is expected to sign a new Liverpool contract. The midfielder has been at the club since joining from the Kansas Jayhawks 2021.

Liverpool are also set to offer Japan international Fuka Nagano a new deal this summer amid transfer interest from Manchester United.

Liverpool offer Nunez and Chiesa for Osimhen

Liverpool have entered into negotiations for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as they look to refresh their attacking options ahead of next season’s Premier League title defence.

According to reports, the club has offered the out-of-favour pair of Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa to Napoli in exchange for Victor Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray.

The deal will not be straightforward, though, as Napoli hope to get more out of the deal.

Szczęsny to extend Barcelona stay

Wojciech Szczęsny will spend another two seasons at Barcelona, club executive Deco has confirmed.

The Polish keeper came out of retirement to ease Barca’s injury crisis last season, keeping 14 clean sheets in 30 appearances in all competitions as they won La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

And the 35-year-old, formerly of Arsenal, Brentford, Juventus, and Roma, is now set to extend his playing career further.

“Wojciech Szczesny will sign a new deal at stay with us next season,” Deco confirmed.

The contract will see him stay at the Bernabeu through June 2027. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen seems set to leave the club this summer.

Man United prepare Real Madrid deal

Manchester United are reportedly ready to table an offer for Real Madrid’s Andriy Lunin.

The Ukrainian shot-stopper joined Real in 2018, making 37 first-team La Liga appearances since, also serving loan spells at Leganes, Valladolid, and Oviedo. He is now playing second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois.

He could find a new home at United, though, who are looking to provide competition for or upgrade on Andre Onana.

They are set to offer £13m for the player, well shy of Real’s asking price, said to be as high as £21.4m

United are also seriously considering Aston Villa’s two-time Yashin Trophy winner Emi Martinez and Mike Maignan, who came close to joining Chelsea in the early summer transfer window.

De Bruyne to play a role in Grealish move

Kevin de Bruyne is reportedly working to convince Napoli to sign Jack Grealish.

De Bruyne joined Napoli on a free transfer earlier this month after a trophy-laden 10-year spell at City.

Grealish has been told by City manager Pep Guardiola to find a new club after he struggled for minutes last season and was left out of his Club World Cup squad. He could be set to follow De Bruyne in joining Napoli.

According to The Sun, Napoli head coach Antonio Conte has discussed Grealish with De Bruyne, who is said to have given a ‘glowing reference’.

Everton are in talks to take the winger on loan, though City are thought to prefer a permanent move.

Grealish hopes any move away from the Etihad will improve his chances of being called up to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Newcastle intensify Elanga interest

Newcastle are reportedly willing to sacrifice Harvey Barnes to raise funds for Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga.

Elanga, who scored six goals and assisted 11 in the last Premier League season, is said to be available for £50m.

The Magpies could be set to offer Barnes in either a player-plus-cash deal or a straight player swap.

Barnes has struggled for impact at Newcastle since signing from Leicester in 2023, scoring 14 goals in 63 appearances.

Aston Villa and Manchester United are both thought to hold an interest in the player. Newcastle have also highlighted Brighton’s João Pedro as an alternative if they cannot land their top choice in Elanga.

Bournemouth hold out for Zabarnyi

Bournemouth are hoping to secure as high a price as possible for Illya Zabarnyi as negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain wear on.

PSG made an offer of £51.4m for the centre-back this week, though Bournemouth are set to reject this. They are said to rate the player highly and believe he has considerable potential. As such, they are not keen to move him on.

He is under contract until 2030. Negotiations are expected to close in the coming days, but it is unclear whether an agreement will be reached.

The Ukrainian joined the Cherries in January 2023 and made 36 Premier League appearances last season.

Courtois: I want to retire at Real Madrid

Thibaut Courtois has committed the remainder of his career to Real Madrid.

The Belgium international, now 33, is expected to enter into contract extension talks with Los Blancos after the Club World Cup.

He joined the club from Chelsea in 2018, and has since won three La Liga and two Champions League titles.

Speaking ahead of tonight’s match against Pachuca, he said: “I hope I can renew. I’m very happy at Real Madrid, playing here is a dream and every year that passes is another dream.

“I’m at the club’s complete disposal, they know I want to stay here... and hopefully retire here. But now it’s time to prove myself on the pitch. The rest will be easy to resolve.”

Deco speaks on Barcelona transfer to-do list

Barcelona legend turned club director Deco has spoken on the future of various Blaugrana players, both current and future, in a wide-ranging interview with La Vanguardia.

On Ansu Fati: “With his age and career, Ansu Fati can't stay without playing. If he leaves, it will be on a loan. He is 23 but people talk about him like he's 30. He still has a lot to grow and learn.”

On Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams’ friendship: “Nico’s name was already on the table last season, the idea of signing him has always been there. Their friendship is a nice bonus, of course… but this isn’t a club for friends — we’re here to work and to win.”

On Frenkie de Jong: “This is the de Jong we want. We want him to stay with us. He has one more year under contract with us and we are going to analyse things calmly.”

On Marc Andre Ter Stegen: “I don't need to speak with Ter Stegen. My job is to build the best possible squad for the coach, not deciding who plays. No contract guarantees anyone a starting spot. It's the coach who makes those decisions.”

Arsenal target Brentford star

Arsenal could be in the market for a new midfield if Thomas Partey leaves.

Contract talks with Partey have reached a stand-off and the Gunners are being linked with a surprise move for Brentford captain Christian Norgaard.

Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad but Mikel Arteta is said to be keen to add another experienced midfielder to his squad.

Norgaard impressed for Brentford last season and the Mirror report “a formal move” for the Denmark international could follow if Partey departs.

Tottenham have also been linked with Norgaard.

Liverpool deal 'here we go'

Liverpool have agreed a £35million deal to sell Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen, which could pave the way for them to move for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

Leverkusen will pay an initial £30m plus £5m in add-ons for Quansah.

The England Under-21 international has agreed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga side.

Fabrizio Romano has given the Quansah deal the “here we go” stamp and says Liverpool have inserted a buy-back clause to give them a future option to re-sign him.

His exit frees up Liverpool to move for Guehi, with Palace looking to cash in on a player who has just one year left on his contract.

Fulham midfielder chooses Everton

Fulham’s Kenny Tete has reportedly agreed a three-year contract with Everton.

He will join the club as a free agent, with the move due to be formally completed next week.

The Dutchman has 14 international caps and made 109 league appearances for Fulham since signing from Lyon in 2020.

Chelsea end interest in Spanish talent

Chelsea have ended their interest in Deportivo La Coruna winger Yeremay Hernandez.

The Blues have been linked with the 22-year-old, who scored 15 goals and registered five assists in 39 appearances in Spain last season.

But a move for Hernandez has now been ruled out after he signed a new long-term contract at Deportivo.

Arsenal striker search hits the rocks

Arsenal’s search for a new striker has “hits the rocks”, according to a fresh report that says the Gunners are growing frustrated with Benjamin Sesko over his wage demands.

New Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has been in talks over Sesko and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres.

It seemed Sesko had emerged as the top target but the Sun report his camp are “looking for a contract much higher than Arsenal plan to pay” and “that may force a change of direction”.

Sesko has an asking price of around £70m.

Barcelona director Deco has confirmed Nico Williams wants to join to the Catalan giants.

Williams has been a long-term target for Arsenal but it has become clear in recent weeks that the Spain star is unlikely to move to Emirates Stadium.

“Yes, Nico Williams wants to come,” said Deco. “And we will try!

“Nico, same as other players, is showing a strong desire to come… and if the right conditions are met in his case, we’ll definitely try to complete the deal.”

'Exploratory talks' over Chelsea striker

Nicolas Jackson’s Chelsea future continues to be the subject of speculation following his latest misdemeanour.

Jackson was sent off in Friday’s Club World Cup defeat to Flamengo and Chelsea are interested in signing another new striker following the £30million arrival of Liam Delap.

Now Juventus and Napoli are said to have held “exploratory talks” over the signing of Jackson, according to Gianluca di Marzio.

Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for Rodrygo.

Now fresh reports in Spain say the Gunners have decided to press ahead in their bid to sign Real Madrid forward this summer.

Arsenal look set to miss out on Nico Williams but Rodrygo has emerged a serious target and AS report they are ready to make their move for the Brazilian.

A deal for Rodrygo could cost as much as £77million and the report in Spain claims Arsenal are ready to make significant sale to fund the move.

Guardiola wants to cut Man City squad

Pep Guardiola has said Manchester City will actively trim down their squad before the start of the new season.

Ilkay Gundogan is being linked with Galatasaray, while Jack Grealish, Kalvin Phillips and Kyle Walker are not in the City squad at the Club World Cup and could leave.

Guardiola said: “We have - right now - a long squad, too many players, so we cannot go with 26, 27 players this season because there would be more without playing, and step by step maybe a few players are going to more.”

On Gundogan’s future, Guardiola said: “No news, good news. I don't know anything, I didn't speak with him, and if he will not be part he would not be here.”

Spurs join race for Garnacho

Tottenham have entered the race to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United.

Garnacho looks set to leave Old Trafford this summer and fresh reports claim Spurs are interested in the 20-year-old amid doubts over the future of captain Heung-min Son.

United are said to want around £50m for Garnacho, who has also been linked with Chelsea and Napoli.

Garnacho is free to move after falling out with Ruben Amorim.

No Chelsea plans over Maignan deal

There has been a lot of talk about whether Chelsea will go back in for Mike Maignan after failing with a move for the AC Milan goalkeeper before the Club World Cup.

But Fabrizio Romano claims the Blues are not planning to revisit a deal for Maignan this summer.

Romano says “talks with AC Milan and agents are off since 12 days ago” and that Chelsea “maintain their confidence in the goalkeepers they have”.

Arsenal 'agree' first summer deal

As well as moving for Warren Zaire-Emery, Arsenal are said to have reached an agreement over a surprise deal for Leicester playmaker Bilal El Khannouss.

El Khannouss was one of the few shining lights for Leicester last season and Arsenal have agreed a deal with his agents, according to AfricaFoot.

The report claims Mikel Arteta believes the 21-year-old “can become a key part” of his midfield and has given the green light for the signing to proceed.

El Khannouss is a Morocco international and joined Leicester for £21million from Genk last season.

It emerged last night that Marc Guehi is ready to run down his contract at Crystal Palace and join Liverpool on a free transfer next summer.

But fresh reports claim are ready to launch a move to sign the England centre-back this summer.

Team Talk say Liverpool are “very close” to reaching an agreement with the player on personal terms and that they are looking to “move quickly” to win the race to sign Guehi, with Newctasle and Arsenal still being linked with him.

The report says Palace value Guehi at £70m but will considering selling him for around £45m.

Chelsea continue to target a new centre-back and Nottingham Forest defender Murillo has emerged as new target at Stamford Bridge.

Murillo starred for Forest last season and is valued at as much as £80million.

Chelsea continue to be linked with Sporting defender Ousmane Diomande but football.london report that Murillo is also now an option.

Some big news this morning on Arsenal, who are lining up a shock move for Paris Saint-Germain star Warren Zaire-Emery.

The Gunners are closing in on the signing of Martin Zubimendi but fresh reports claim Mikel Arteta is working to add a second key midfielder to his squad.

Zaire-Emery has made over 100 appearances for PSG but the 19-year-old has failed to hold down a regular starting spot for the Champions League winners.

That has fuelled speculation over his future and Fichajes in Spain claim Arsenal are working on a deal to sign him.

The report says PSG “could open the door if Arsenal comes with a strong offer” for Zaire-Emery, who is under contract until 2029 and can play in multiple roles.
