DONE DEAL! Chelsea sign £60m Joao Pedro

Chelsea have announced the signing of Joao Pedro, in a deal worth up to £60m.

The Brazilian has signed a seven-year deal.

“Everyone knows this is a big club with a great history,” Joao Pedro said. “They had brilliant players in the past and have brilliant players now.

“So I am excited to join and you know when you are a Chelsea player you must think one thing — win.”

Suarez considering retirement

Luis Suarez, the former Liverpool striker, is considring retirement.

According to Eduardo Burgos, the Uruguayan, who currently plays for Inter Miami, is thinking about hanging up his boots after the MLS side’s heavy defeat to Paris Saint-Germain at the Club World Cup.

The report states that the forward is set to leave Miami in December, when his contract in Florida expires.

Suarez has since played for Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Nacional and Gremio since leaving Anfield.

Liverpool confirm appointment of ex-Arsenal player

Former Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has joined Liverpool as assistant coach to Arne Slot.

Van Bronckhorst, who played for Arsenal and Barcelona during a distinguished career, won titles as a coach in the Netherlands with Feyenoord and Scotland with Rangers.

His most recent role was as coach of Turkish team Besiktas.

Slot has made changes to his backroom staff after winning the Premier League title in his first season in charge at Anfield.

As well as Van Bronckhorst, Liverpool also confirmed the arrival of Xavi Valero for his second spell at the club. He will take over the role of head of first team goalkeeper coaching.

Goalkeeper coaches Fabian Otte and Claudio Taffarel will leave the club, Liverpool said.

Manchester United confirm interest in Ruiz

Manchester United have confirmed their interest in Fabian Ruiz.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is considered the ideal replacement for the departed Christian Eriksen, though FootMercato report that United may have a job convincing the player.

PSG are also unwilling to let the 29-year-old leave as the player remains a key cog for head coach Luis Enrique.

Tottenham have completed the signing of 19-year-old Japan international Tōko Koga from Feyenoord.

She will don the No32 shirt.

The Osaka-born centre back became a national hero in February as she scored a crucial winner to down the United States in the SheBelieves Cup.

She has signed a four-year contract subject to international clearance and a work permit.

Goodman extends Crystal Palace deal before new loan

Owen Goodman has signed a new contract at Crystal Palace before joining Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan, writes Dom Smith.

The 21-year-old turned heads last season during a fine spell at AFC Wimbledon, playing a pivotal role in the club’s promotion to League One.

Goodman kept 25 clean sheets across all competitions and was named in the League Two Team of the Season.

But he will be facing the Dons next season after joining League One rivals Huddersfield.

Barcelona cannot register Williams

Barcelona's hopes of signing Nico Williams have hit a significant roadblock.

The Spanish giants are hoping to trigger this forward's release clause, reportedly worth around €60million, but are said to be struggling to find the funds.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has done them no favours, telling Cope: "As of today, Barcelona wouldn’t be able to register him."

That's good news for Bayern Munich, who wait in the wings hoping for a clash.

Brentford to announce Milambo signing

Brentford have agreed a deal to sign the Feyenoord midfielder Antoni Milambo on a five-year contract, with an option for a further year.

Standard Sport understands the Dutch midfielder is joining Brentford for a fee of £16million, with a further £4.25m in possible add-ons.

Milambo has undergone a medical in England but is back in the Netherlands ahead of a holiday, after which he will join up with his new team-mates later this month.

Brentford have been in regular discussions with Feyenoord and the player’s representatives since April and have long been the frontrunners to sign the Netherlands youth international, who recently competed in their run to the Euro Under-21 Championships semi-finals.

Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed the signing of Jarell Quansah in a deal worth up to £40million.

BREAKING NEWS: Branthwaite signs new Everton contract

Everton have confirmed that Jarrad Branthwaite has signed a new five-year contract.

It ties the defender to the club until 2030.

Liverpool reject Bayern's Diaz bid

Liverpool have rejected a bid from Bayern Munich for Luis Diaz.

According to widespread reports, the German giants have failed in an opening attempt to sign the Colombian. Barcelona were also similarly rebuffed earlier in the summer.

BBC Sport add that Bayern have been told by Liverpool that Diaz is not for sale at any price and the club will not will not enter into discussions for the attacker.

Diaz scored 22 goals for club and country last season.

The Mail report this morning that City want to extend Dias' current terms, which expire in 2027.

Liverpool in advanced talks over Guehi deal

Liverpool are now said to be in advanced talks over signing Marc Guehi.

The Reds have turned their attention to the Crystal Palace captain as they seek further defensive reinforcements after boosting their attack with a club-record deal for Florian Wirtz.

Liverpool were expected to make a significant offer for Guehi, who is entering the final 12 months of his contract at Selhurst Park and appears unlikely to agree an extension.

According to Sky Germany, Liverpool are actively now trying to close a deal for the England centre-back after entering advanced talks.

Interestingly, they seem to claim that Guehi is under contract at Palace until 2027, rather than 2026.

West Ham have seen a bid for El Hadji Malick Diouf rejected.

The Hammers have reignited their pursuit of Slavia Prague’s young Senegalese defender this summer, tabling an official offer worth approximately €20m (£17.1m).

However, Fabrizio Romano reports that approach was rejected by the Czech champions, who are holding out for a larger fee amid rival interest.

Reports claim that West Ham have already agreed personal terms with Diouf.

Chelsea set to announce £60m Joao Pedro

Joao Pedro’s move to Chelsea is almost complete.

The Blues have agreed a deal with Brighton for the Brazilian forward worth £55m up front plus a further £5m in add-ons.

Pedro has flown to Chelsea’s Club World Cup camp in the United States in order to sign a seven-year contract valid until 2032.

Fabrizio Romano now reports that the former Watford star, also a major transfer target for Newcastle this summer, has successfully undergone a medical.

An announcement is not far off.

New Eze twist in Arsenal transfer pursuit

Arsenal are said to be in talks over a huge move for Eberechi Eze.

Standard Sport reported last week that Crystal Palace’s FA Cup final hero had been added to a winger transfer shortlist at the Emirates Stadium that also includes Real Madrid star Rodrygo and Anthony Gordon at Newcastle.

Now multiple outlets including The Guardian claim that Arsenal have entered talks with Eze’s camp to discuss a potential transfer.

Chloe Kelly has left Manchester City upon the expiration of her contract.

She spent the second half of last season on loan at Arsenal, returning to form and winning the Champions League in the process. She is also part of the Lionesses squad for this summer’s European championships.

Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal with Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres.

Their pursuit of the striker has been long and protracted, but a deal now seems to be imminent, according to L’Equipe.

Andrea Berta has reportedly earmarked him as a No1 striker target this summer, and they are now close to agreeing a contract with the player.

Reaching an agreement with the club could prove more challenging, though, as Sporting do not seem keen to let him leave.

Newcastle target defensive upgrades

Newcastle are interested in Marseille centre-back Leonardo Balerdi, according to the Daily Mail.

The 26-year-old Argentine has made 106 Ligue 1 appearances for the French outfit since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

Why it does not make sense for Arsenal to sign Madueke

Arsenal have been on an upward trajectory for some years under Mikel Arteta and last season reached the Champions League semi-finals.

They feel like a marquee signing away from tipping the balance in their favour, having built a physical and consistent brand of football under the Spaniard.

This has led to links with Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak and Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, transfers that would move the needle, marking a true statement of intent.

Chelsea's Noni Madueke, a promising but equally frustrating figure during his two and a half years in west London, is another player in the conversation as Arsenal search for reinforcements in attack. But a move for the 23-year-old would represent a peculiar decision for everybody involved.

Chelsea to make more attacking signings?

Chelsea’s front line chopping and changing could be set to continue.

According to fresh reports in the Telegraph, the Blues hope to start next season with as many as nine first-team forwards.

The report claims that, should one or more forwards be sold this summer, more will likely be signed.

Christopher Nkunku is very likely to leave on a permanent deal this summer, as is Raheem Sterling.

The report adds that Arsenal hold an interest in Noni Madueke but are yet to make a formal approach to the club. He is valued around £50m.

Sunderland have completed a £30m move for Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra.

The player will fill the shoes of Jobe Bellingham, who traded Wearside for Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer.

After signing, he said: “I’m happy and excited to become a Black Cat and I can’t wait to discover the Stadium of Light and its fans. Everyone saw last season’s success and I guarantee that I’ll give everything for this team and fight for these colours in the Premier League. Neco Williams has signed a new Nottingham Forest contract, which will see him stay at the City Ground through 2029.

Last night it was reported that the Eintracht Frankfurt star was among three names on the striker transfer shortlist at Anfield, along with Alexander Isak and Victor Osimhen.

Arsenal submit bid for Madueke

Arsenal have submitted an offer to sign Noni Madueke from Chelsea, according to new reports.

The Gunners have been linked with the England international already this summer, as well as the likes of Real Madrid’s Rodrygo and Newcastle star Anthony Gordon as they target a new winger to go along with a high-profile striker arrival such as Benjamin Sesko or Viktor Gyokeres.

Madueke had a key role at Chelsea last season but his Stamford Bridge future has become subject to doubt with Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens both poised to arrive.

Tottenham confident over cut-price Kudus deal

Mohammed Kudus' 10-day release clause has come into effect, with West Ham open to his sale and Tottenham interested in the Ghanaian, reports Dom Smith.

Kudus is available for £85m for Premier League clubs, £80m for European clubs, and £120m for Saudi sides between July 1 and July 10.

Standard Sport understands Chelsea have not ruled out a push to sign Kudus, but Tottenham are said to be confident they can sign the forward for well below his buyout fee.

Milambo undergoes Brentford medical

Brentford look set to clinch their third signing of the summer in Antoni Milambo.

The Bees were said last week to be pressing ahead with a move for the highly-rated young Feyenoord attacker, 20, despite Thomas Frank’s exit to Tottenham, with a move having apparently been in the works for months.

Now the Daily Mirror claim that Milambo has undergone a medical at Brentford and will sign a long-term contract as the first signing of the Keith Andrews era in west London, following the earlier arrivals of Caoimhin Kelleher and Michael Kayode.

They are said to be paying £17m up front for the Dutch Under-21 international plus potentially another £4.25m in add-ons.

Crystal Palace close to Diomande deal

Crystal Palace may have found their ideal replacement for captain Marc Guehi.

Reports from Germany earlier this morning stated that Liverpool had entered into “advanced talks” with the England defender as they look to make their latest major signing of a busy summer.

Palace won’t want to lose influential skipper Guehi, though also won’t want to risk him walking away for nothing when his current contract at Selhurst Park expires next summer.

According to A Bola in Portugal, the FA Cup winners are now closing in on a deal for Sporting’s Ousmane Diomande worth around €55m (£47.1m).

Tottenham open talks over Kudus deal

Tottenham have now opened talks with Mohammed Kudus, per new reports.

News broke yesterday that Spurs were hoping to sign the Ghana forward, who would become the first player to join them from fierce London rivals West Ham since Scott Parker in 2011.

However, Chelsea have also been heavily linked with Kudus and are said to still want him despite the imminent signings of Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens.

According to Fabrizio Romano, talks are underway and progressing positively between Tottenham and Kudus, who is open to making the switch.

He adds there are also two other unnamed clubs in the race as things stand.

Liverpool target Isak, Osimhen and Ekitike

Liverpool want to sign one of Alexander Isak, Victor Osimhen or Hugo Ekitike this summer, reports claim.

The Reds have already significantly bolstered their attack with the club-record £116m swoop for Germany’s Florian Wirtz, but are also targeting a high-profile striker addition with Napoli in talks over signing Darwin Nunez.

According to Sky Germany, they have three “concrete options” and have done their due diligence on all of Newcastle star Isak, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ekitike and Osimhen, the Napoli frontman who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray.

It sounds like Ekitike is the most likely option at the moment, though it is said that Liverpool will have to sell players before signing the Frenchman, with BILD also reporting that Frankfurt aren’t expecting any movement on him until August.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all also been linked with former PSG and Reims forward Ekitike.

Tottenham look set to sanction the exit of Richarlison this summer.

The Brazilian forward struggled with injury for much of last season and has failed to hit the heights at Spurs since joining from Everton for £60m in the summer of 2022.

Richarlison has two years left to run on his current Tottenham contract, though The Sun report that new head coach Thomas Frank has given the green light for him to depart in this transfer window.

He is expected to join Turkish giants Galatasaray for around £20m as a likely replacement for Victor Osimhen, with Everton said to have rejected the chance for him to return to Merseyside.

Liverpool have set their asking price over Harvey Elliott.

The former Fulham midfielder is expected to depart Anfield this summer in search of more regular starting opportunities and has greatly enhanced his reputation by playing a starring role in England’s successful European Under-21 Championship title defence in Slovakia.

Liverpool are now said to be in advanced talks over signing Marc Guehi.

The Reds have turned their attention to the Crystal Palace captain as they seek further defensive reinforcements after boosting their attack with a club-record deal for Florian Wirtz.

Liverpool were expected to make a significant offer for Guehi, who is entering the final 12 months of his contract at Selhurst Park and appears unlikely to agree an extension.

According to Sky Germany, Liverpool are actively now trying to close a deal for the England centre-back after entering advanced talks.

Interestingly, they seem to claim that Guehi is under contract at Palace until 2027, rather than 2026.

Arsenal hold positive meeting over Eze

Arsenal held a positive meeting with Eberechi Eze’s agents over the weekend, according to reports.

The Gunners have been ramping up their interest in bringing back a player they initially released as a teenager.

Though talks with Crystal Palace over a fee for the England midfielder are not yet underway, Fabrizio Romano says that Arsenal met with his representatives to start discussing the potential conditions of a deal.

It sounds like that meeting went well, with Arsenal now fully informed on every aspect of the situation and working hard to sign Eze, who is said to be open to a switch to the Emirates.

Joao Pedro completes Chelsea medical

Joao Pedro’s move to Chelsea is almost complete.

The Blues have agreed a deal with Brighton for the Brazilian forward worth £55m up front plus a further £5m in add-ons.

Pedro has flown to Chelsea’s Club World Cup camp in the United States in order to sign a seven-year contract valid until 2032.

Fabrizio Romano now reports that the former Watford star, also a major transfer target for Newcastle this summer, has successfully undergone a medical.

Tete to stay at Fulham

Kenny Tete has signed a contract extension with Fulham, according to Fabrizio Romano.

He had come close to joining Everton on a free transfer, going so far as to accept personal terms but never signing the proposed contract.

Marco Silva phoned the player to convince him to stay at the club.

The 29-year-old joined the Cottagers in 2020.

Eze to Arsenal twist

More now on Arsenal’s high-profile pursuit of Eberechi Eze.

Last week came the news that the Gunners were set to rival Tottenham for the signing of the Crystal Palace and England star, who is believed to have a £68m release clause written into his current contract at Selhurst Park.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Eze is indeed high on Arsenal’s transfer shortlist but no contact has yet been made with Palace.

He says they would like to strike a deal worth less than that aforementioned clause and interestingly adds that the swoop would be separate to their pursuit of a new winger (and striker) this summer.

It is said that no other team currently has the same level of interest in Eze, so it doesn’t look like Tottenham are making a move at the moment.

The chances of the prolific Sweden striker leaving Newcastle this summer previously looked non-existent, much to the annoyance of long-term suitors Arsenal.

Chelsea eye Kudus despite Pedro and Gittens deals

Chelsea remain interested in Mohammed Kudus despite the imminent signings of Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, reports claim.

It’s been a busy time for the Blues, who are poised to welcome both Brighton forward Pedro and Borussia Dortmund winger Gittens to Stamford Bridge for a combined total of around £105m after medicals, adding to the earlier signings of Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr.

You would have thought that those latest arrivals would likely now rule Chelsea out of the running for Kudus, but they remain firmly in the race, per Sky Sports.

Tottenham - also keen on Eberechi Eze, Bryan Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo - also want the Ghana star, who is believed to have rejected a lucrative switch to Saudi Arabia and have an £85m release clause in his current Hammers contract that applies to Premier League clubs only in the first 10 days of July.

It is also said that Newcastle want Kudus if they can’t prise Anthony Elanga away from Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal are said to be in talks over a huge move for Eberechi Eze.

Standard Sport reported last week that Crystal Palace’s FA Cup final hero had been added to a winger transfer shortlist at the Emirates Stadium that also includes Real Madrid star Rodrygo and Anthony Gordon at Newcastle.

Jesus issues positive injury update amid Arsenal striker transfer saga

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has posted an encouraging new update on his recovery from a serious knee injury.

The Brazilian international suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear during an FA Cup tie against Manchester United in mid-January and was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the season as he underwent surgery.

Now almost six months after going under the knife, Jesus has given a positive update on his progress.

In a new 35-second video posted to his official account on social media platform X on Monday, Jesus - dressed in Arsenal training gear - can be seen engaging in skipping drills and strengthening exercises with a resistance band, before jumping from a crouched lunge position into a squat.

Rashford heading back to Manchester United

Aston Villa have confirmed Marcus Rashford is heading back to Manchester United following the end of his loan spell.

It’s a different situation altogether for Estevao Willian, whom Chelsea agreed to sign from Palmeiras for an initial £29m fee that could rise above £50m with add-ons.

Norgaard gets Brentford blessing to complete Arsenal move

Brentford sporting director Phil Giles says he will be “happy” for Christian Norgaard to complete a move to Arsenal.

Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports News, Giles said: “Arsenal approached us in the last two weeks about Christian – we’ve spoken regularly with Andrea Berta.

“As it stands, I think it’s more likely to happen than not, but we have to go through the full process, tick all the boxes, and we’ll see at the end of it.

Turkey extend Montella deal

The Turkish national team have extended Vincenzo Montella’s tenure as manager.

The Italian will continue in his post until 2028, with the 51-year-old, the former AC Milan and Sevilla head coach, having been in charge for the past two years.

Arsenal have made an improved offer to Valencia for Cristhian Mosquera, reports Nicolò Schira.

It has been claimed that the fresh bid is in the region of to €21m-€22m, which works out to be around £18m. An opening bid of around £10m was rejected last week.

Tottenham optimistic over cut-price Kudus deal

Tottenham are optimistic over securing a deal for West Ham star Mohammed Kudus.

The Telegraph report that Kudus has an £85million release clause, but Spurs believe a deal can be reached for well below that figure.

Bryan Mbeumo, Antoine Semenyo and Eberechi Eze have all also been of interest to Spurs, but the report claims it is Kudus who is now considered the most likely wide forward to arrive in north London.

Kudus would become the first player to move directly from West Ham to Spurs since Scott Parker in 2011. Both then the last two players of note were Michael Carrick and Jermain Defoe in 2004.

Atletico submit first bid for Romero

Atletico Madrid have made their first bid for Cristian Romero.

Argentina’s DSports reports this morning that an offer worth €55million (£47m), plus €10m (£8.5m) bonuses, has been submitted.

Spurs are understood to be holding out for €70m (£60m), which Atletico's opening offer just falls short of.

Romero is said to be keen to play under Diego Simeone, though football.london report this morning that new Spurs manager Thomas Frank is keen to keep the Argentine in his squad.

Zubimendi flies to London

Martin Zubimendi has arrived in London to finalise his move to Arsenal.

The midfielder is set to join in a deal worth around £55million after the Gunners triggered the release clause in his Real Sociedad contract.

Noticias de Gipuzkoa report that Zubimendi flew out of Bilbao Airport on Sunday with his agent, Inaki Ibanz.

Sociedad wanted Zubimendi's move to be made official after June 30, which is today, so the sale is included in their financial figures for next season.

Man Utd set Mbeumo deadline

Manchester United are stepping up talks with Brentford over Bryan Mbeumo.

The club have seen two bids for Mbeumo rejected, the last totalling £62.5million, as Brentford hold out for a bigger than than United paid for Matheus Cunha.

Manchester Evening News report this morning that United want Mbeumo in place for the start of pre-season.

As talks continue this week between United and Brentford, the hope in Manchester is that Mbeumo will complete a medical and sign on the dotted line in time to report at Carrington next week, on July 7.
