Newcastle name Elanga alternative

Newcastle are said to be closing in on a deal for Anthony Elanga, but have a ‘plan B’ option lined up should negotiations fall through.

According to Football Insider, they have earmarked PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko as an alternative option.

The Belgian, 22, hit nine goals and one assist in 30 Eredivisie appearances last season. He has 18 senior Belgium caps to his name.

Jadon Sancho 'closer' to Serie A switch

Jadon Sancho is closing in on a permanent move to Juventus.

That is according to journalist Nicolo Schira, who reports that positive talks have taken place this week, with direct negotiations expected later in the week.

Sancho has been offered a contract worth £4.3m/year, including bonuses. He would sign through 2029, with an option for a further year.

Champions League ramifications if Chelsea don't sell this summer

Chelsea may be forced to sell players this summer if they are to register new recruits for the Champions League.

In order to add to their ‘List A’, or first team squad, for UEFA competitions, they will need a ‘positive transfer balance’.

That can only be rectified with money made by selling players. A new report in The Times estimates that they need to raise around £60m with player sales.

The Blues are yet to register any of Liam Delap, João Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Estêvão Willian, Dario Essugo, Andrey Santos, Mamadou Sarr or Mike Penders, though some of these arrivals are expected to leave on loan this season.

Chelsea make Ugochukwu decision

Chelsea are prioritising permanent moves for Lesley Ugochukwu this summer as they look to offload the out-of-favour midfielder.

Ugochukwu tumbled down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge despite impressing on loan at Southampton last season, promptly usurped by Fernandez, Caicedo, Lavia, Andrey Santos, and the newly signed Dario Essugo.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the club will not consider any loan proposals for him, despite interest from Valencia.

Premier League sides are said to be interested in taking him on.

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Garcia has reportedly received ten offers to leave Los Blancos this summer, according to El Chiringuito.

Gyokeres agrees terms with Arsenal - latest from Standard Sport

The Gunners are focused on making the prolific Swedish international their statement summer striker signing after also holding talks with RB Leipzig over fellow long-term target Benjamin Sesko.

There has been talk of a financial package for Gyokeres worth an initial €65million (£56m) up front plus an additional €15m in bonuses, though Standard Sport understands Sporting would not be willing to accept that payment structure as things stand as discussions continue.

The former Coventry forward is said to have reached an agreement with Arsenal over personal terms on a five-year contract until 2030.

Gyokeres, who has also been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Juventus, wants to leave Sporting this summer and move to the Emirates Stadium and has been involved in a bitter stand-off with the reigning Portuguese champions. His camp is said to have been furious at suggestions that Sporting would not honour an agreement to let him depart this summer for an agreed fee of around £60m.

Crystal Palace close to deal

Crystal Palace have reached an agreement in principle to sign Borna Sosa, according to Sky Germany.

The Croatian international left-back would move to Selhurst Park from Ajax, where he has plied his trade since 2023. He spent last season on loan at Torino.

Palace are in ‘advanced negotiations’ with Ajax. The deal is thought to be worth around £3.5m.

Heung Min-Son is likely to stay with Tottenham this summer amid reported interest from sides in Korea and the MLS.

Fresh reports in the Sun and the Daily Mirror claim that he is not likely to depart this year, and hopes to wait until the ‘right opportunity’ presents itself.

Some potentially good news for Tottenham in their pursuit of Mohammed Kudus, who is said to have made it clear he wants to join Spurs despite interest from Chelsea.

Spurs have had a £50million bid rejected for Kudus by West Ham but are expected to returned with an improved offer next week.

Chelsea have also been linked with Kudus but Fabrizio Romano says Kudus “is not talking to any other club at this stage” and “wants Tottenham move”.

Arsenal have confirmed Martin Zubimendi’s shirt number after the completion of his long-awaited transfer from Real Sociedad.

Zubimendi will take the No36 shirt at Arsenal, which had previously belong to young goalkeeper Tommy Setford and has also been worn by the likes of Emiliano Martinez, Ismael Bennacer, Johan Djourou and Jermaine Pennant.

Mikel Arteta says Martin Zubimendi will bring “a huge amount of quality and football intelligence” to Arsenal following his move from Real Sociedad.

Arteta said: “Martin is a player who will bring a huge amount of quality and football intelligence to our team. He will fit in really well and he has all the attributes to be a key player for us.

“The standard he has consistently performed at over the last few seasons for both club and country is exactly why we are so excited to have him with us. We all welcome Martin and his family to the club.”

Manchester United have made shock move to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer.

Arsenal are said to have been given the green light to sign Viktor Gyokeres as they look to finally end their hunt for a striker.

The Gunners have so far been frustrated in their moves for Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko.

But A Bola in Portugal claim Sporting are now ready to accept a deal for Gyokeres.

The report says Sporting will accept a bid of £60.4million plus £8.6m in add-ons.

Chelsea look to have been given a boost in their shock move for Ethan Nwaneri as fresh reports claim he is reluctant to sign a new deal at Arsenal without guaranteed playing time.

It emerged on Saturday that Madueke has agreed personal terms with Arsenal and Fabrizio Romano says they are now plotting an official move to sign him.

Chelsea have now confirmed the signing of Jamie Gittens.

The England Under-21 winger has penned a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge after a £51.5m deal was agreed with Borussia Dortmund.

“It feels great,’ Gittens said. “It’s a great feeling to join such a big club as Chelsea.

“I can’t wait to learn from everyone in the team and to push myself to the max here. It’s an amazing feeling.”

Diego Leon is officially a Manchester United player.

The £7m deal was announced this morning and it would appear that the left-back will not be heading out on loan to gain first-team experience.

Walker reacts to Burnley move

Kyle Walker has spoken about his decision to join Burnley.

The experienced right-back has signed for the Premier League newboys from Manchester City for a reported £5m transfer fee.

This move allows him to be reunited with Burnley boss Scott Parker whom he played alongside at Tottenham over a decade ago.

"I'm delighted to be here," said Walker.

"When I spoke to Scott and heard about his plans for next season, it was an opportunity I jumped at.

“He's done an amazing job here, guiding the Club back to the Premier League with a 100-point haul, and now we're looking forward, together, at being back in the greatest league in the world.

Man Utd confirm Leon signing

Manchester United have finalised the signing of Diego Leon.

The teenager signed a pre-contract agreement with the club in January, but spent the second half of last season at Cerro Porteno.

The 18-year-old joins in a deal that could be worth up to £7m.

Portuguese publication, O Jogo, have lead with a headline this morning that reads ‘Arsenal prepares decisive attack’.

This is in relation to Viktor Gyokeres amid reports the Gunners are willing to meet Sporting's valuation of the prolific striker.

They explain Arsenal could structure a deal by offering £60m up front with a further £10m in add-ons.

Palmer praises Estevao

Chelsea star Cole Palmer has said that Estevao Willian has got “amazing quality” as the Brazilian prepares to officially join the club.

The Blues first struck a deal with Palmeiras to sign Estevao last year after agreeing an initial £29m fee that could rise above £50m with add-ons.

In a rather unique scenario, Chelsea’s Club World Cup quarter-final against Palmeiras saw them come up against the teenage Brazilian forward.

On what was his final assignment for his boyhood club, the highly-rated 18-year-old signed off with a brilliant goal early in the second half which cancelled out Palmer’s opener.

Though Estevao ended up on the losing side, he certainly caught the eye of his future teammates, even swapping shirts with Palmer at the final whistle.

Manchester United players have been excused from preseason training as they look for new clubs.

Ruben Amorim’s squad will reunite on Monday to prepare for their five-match preseason tour, which will be see them travel to the United States and Sweden.

Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia, however, are not expected to report to training.

The five are all expected to leave the club this summer and have been given permission to join up late as they chase moves away from Old Trafford.

Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha has learned his squad number for the 2025-26 campaign, and it spells disaster for one of his teammates.

The Brazilian was the first senior signing of the summer for United as Ruben Amorim looks to overhaul his squad following a dismal season.

He arrived from Wolves in a deal thought to be worth £62.5million, and his new squad number has now been revealed.

Cunha will don the coveted No10 shirt, joining a long line of legendary players such as Wayne Rooney and Bobby Charlton in doing so.

Enzo Maresca has said that Chelsea expect to complete the signing of Jamie Gittens imminently.

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for the talented winger who will sign a seven-year contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Standard Sport understands the fee to be £55million including add-ons.

It would appear the deal is all but done with the Bundesliga outfit granting Gittens permission to join up with Chelsea for their quarter-final tie against Palmeiras.

Maresca on Madueke's future

Noni Madueke may be linked with a Chelsea exit this summer, and Enzo Maresca has made it clear that any player not happy at the club is free to leave.

Speaking after the Blues reached the Club World Cup semi-final, the Italian said: “Noni has been very important for us during this season.

“Today, again, he has been important. But my message to the players and to the club is that I want just players that are happy to be with us.

“The ones that are not happy, they are free to go. It's not for Noni, it's for all the players we have.

Arsenal set new Gyokeres deadline

Mikel Arteta is said to have imposed a deadline for Arsenal to sign Viktor Gyokeres.

The prolific Sporting star is among the top options to become the Gunners’ new striker next season, along with the likes of Benjamin Sesko at RB Leipzig.

However, progress on a move remains slow and the Daily Mail now claim that Arteta wants his new frontman in place by the time Arsenal fly out to Singapore for their pre-season tour on July 19.

If they can’t get Gyokeres, it seems they will move for either Sesko or Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins instead.

Victor Osimhen wants to join Manchester United this summer, according to new reports.

The Nigerian striker has long been linked with a potential switch to Old Trafford and could finally get his wish before the September transfer deadline.

Chelsea have opened talks over a shock move for Tyler Dibling, reports claim.

The highly-rated midfielder is expected to leave Southampton this summer following their miserable relegation from the Premier League last term, but so far a move has yet to materialise despite rumoured interest from the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and Newcastle, among others.

Chelsea have been linked before with securing the return of Dibling, who was briefly in their academy as a youngster.

Arsenal get huge Rodrygo boost

Arsenal look like they will have the chance to sign Rodrygo this summer.

The Brazilian is of major interest to Mikel Arteta, who is looking to add a new top-level winger to his squad in the weeks ahead as well as finally securing a statement striker signing.

A deal for Rodrygo had looked unlikely given his regular role at Madrid and new boss Xabi Alonso’s desire to keep him, but he has barely featured at the ongoing Club World Cup and looks set for showdown talks with Los Blancos after the tournament.

According to GiveMeSport, Real Madrid are now willing to sell Rodrygo and will sanction his exit for a fee of around £77m.

However, it seems that Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also in the race.

Arsenal look to have received a huge new boost over Noni Madueke.

The Gunners want to sign the England winger from Chelsea this summer and were rumoured to have submitted a first official bid for his services earlier this week.

It would be a surprise if Madueke were to leave Chelsea given his important role last season, though the Blues have multiple wide options now with the signings of Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, plus rumoured interest in Mohammed Kudus.

Remember the name Tino Anjorin? The former Chelsea academy starlet has signed for Torino from Empoli on loan with an obligation to buy, subject to conditions.

Anjorin left Chelsea in 2024 with just five senior appearances under his belt, but served loans with Lokomotiv Moscow, Huddersfield Town, and Portsmouth.
